As a starter, why don’t you begin your cleaning with a twist of lemon. This ever- reliable fruit is not only delicious as lemonade, but the truth is that it is also a very powerful cleaning agent. Here are a few cleaning tips where you can use lemon in spring cleaning your home.

Wash and Deodorize Your Dishwasher

Washing dishes in your dishwasher can make it smell poorly over time. But this can be remedied by putting a cup of Lemon Juice in a safe dishwasher container and placing it under the dishwasher rack. Put into rinse cycle. After you finish, your dishwasher will be as clean and fresh as ever!

Lemon as Dishwashing Detergent

Another great solution in cleaning your dishes is by adding one teaspoon of lemon juice into the smaller detergent dispenser of your dishwasher to increase its cleaning intensity. Then load the bigger dispenser with your usual detergent and wash as you normally do. The same goes when manually washing dishes by simply adding one to two teaspoons of lemon juice to your sudsy water to help get rid of grease and grime, even on the toughest pots and pans.

By simply cutting one piece of lemon in half, you can eliminate gunk build-up on your glass shower door. Rub the lemon on your door or squeeze the juice on a sponge then scrub. To have a more powerful effect, you can add a small amount of borax on your sponge with lemon juice to eliminate those stubborn, hard, and tough water stains. Then rinse with warm water. Clean Your Toilet

Lemon juice is a great deodorizing agent even in your toilet. Just by mixing half cup of borax with lemon juice makes a powerful scrub on your toilet bowl, seat, and rim. Finish it up by using a paper towel or sponge to wipe clean. Flush the bowl to enjoy that fresh, clean scent.

Use Lemon as a Furniture Polish

Create your own furniture polish using 2 tbsp. lemon juice with a few drops of lemon oil essential and half a cup of vegetable or olive oil. Mix the ingredients and place the mixture inside a spray bottle. Spray the mixture on your furniture, and then wipe clean using a soft cloth.
