Beautiful Arundel

Arundel Sussex England

It’s not only the castle dominating the skyline that makes Arundel so special.

Nor is it the cathedral that towers majestically over houses built by Napoleonic prisoners of war.

Or the river that meanders through.

It’s not the many gorgeous shops, restaurants or pubs.
The buzzing farmers market.

Or the walks that lead you mile after mile into places with the most spectacular of views.

Where you can sit on hilltops far from the madding crowd and just catch your breath.

It isn’t the history that dates back to Roman times or the streets that feel like a film set.

Or the locals, many of whom are artistic, musical, or just nicely eccentric.

It’s not the Festival alone with it's10 dizzy days of art, music, and fun.

Or the serene setting for boating, wildlife and picnics that is Swanbourne Lake.

It isn’t only the Wildfowl Trust, Arundel Museum, swimming lido,
walking tours and music in the old jailhouse.

It’s that whole package and so much more besides.

Arundel is unique.
For more about the town, its people,
many attractions and history go to:

and do take a look at this beautiful video
by a young man who was brought up in the town.

Now a filmmaker

Arundel Festival

Not on in the same way this year, I know.
Normally 10 days of fun and mayhem.

that's Nass by the way, in spite of being hampered by MS
he ran the festival 10 k a few years ago to raise money for the niece of one of our American clients.
( I think he was actually talking to the friend alongside. Not eyeing her up and down)

Abba on the Hill is one of our favourite events

and of course, a huge part of the festival is the art trail.

It was the first ever walking around art trail in the world.

It's a brilliant chance to find beautiful artworks in a myriad of mediums.

And here's a link to a video that tells you more about its beginnings.

Not on in the same format this year.
It's running over each weekend throughout  August.
Thursday to Sunday (and Thursday to Monday over the Bank Holiday weekend)

Checking out all the links I think the best source of info is
