Staying warm?

If you’re already a client of Harris Power, then we already know the answer is yes. Our customers stay Warm, well-lit, and well-fed during blackouts, even those caused by snow (or should we say whiteout).

While all of Harris Power’s customers were sitting cozy, however, a lot of folks were left out in the cold — inside their own homes! Forced to rely on blankets, gas stoves, and car heaters, many folks of Hampton Roads spent this past weekend in the cold and in the dark, and we hate to hear that.

Harris Power would like those folks to know that you were in our thoughts and hearts, and we hope that you’ll give us a call soon to find a power solution that works with your home, lifestyle, and budget. We’re happy to help — especially if it means keeping the little ones warm!

In the meantime, here is a list of all the things you could have been doing during last weekend’s whiteout. Don’t wait, call today, and enjoy the next whiteout for what it should be: a snow day!

What You Could Have Been Doing During the Whiteout of 2018:

Warm Beverages: Whether microwave, electric stove, or coffeemaker, it’s tricky these days to make a warm beverage without electricity. How ironic that when you need hot chocolate the most, it is the most difficult to attain.

Binge Watching: Even if you charge your laptop or phone to full capacity before a power outage, eventually it will die. What good is a snow day without your favorite characters?

Baking Cookies: A snowy, winter weather tradition for most families, baking cookies is basically mandatory on snow days. Why else would everyone rush out for milk before a blizzard?

Bubble Bath: You can still do this with the electricity off, but it’s really more enjoyable if the rest of the house isn’t freezing when you get out.

Play Catch Up: Running the dishwasher, vacuuming, or washing/drying laundry are all great ways to straighten up your living space on an unexpected day home from work – when you have a generator.

Anything, After Dark: It’s no secret that the sun sets very early in winter. It’s also no secret that it’s really hard to do things when you can’t see. No matter what non-electrical task you’re taking on (cleaning, reading, playing cards) it becomes nearly impossible after dark.

Join the ranks of Harris Power clients and enjoy all of these fun activities during the next big snowstorm! Just imagine you and your friends, family, or coworkers cheersing hot cocoa mugs inside a warm, cozy space while the cold, silent snow drifts gently down outside.

Stay warm, Hampton Roads.
