State Farm’s new character, Jeff the Equipment Manager, takes a plunge with his sax to promote a free CD and the 1-866-JAZZ-BATH hotline.
State Farm is, evidently, dipping its toes into irony-drenched ‘80s tropes and music. Yes, you read that correctly: an auto insurance company has released its own music on a virtually obsolete medium.

The brand’s latest campaign introduces State Farm’s first-ever CD: ‘Jazz bath: the Bath bomb sessions,’ which was recorded with the intention of being played specifically during ‘me-time’ in the bath. The album contains six smooth jazz tracks composed by professional musicians, including Who’s Ready? (For A Jazz Bath), Tubby Time and You Had Me at Jazz. The full album can be streamed on State Farm‘s Spotify, which apparently exists.
It also brings back State Farm’s newest character, Jeff the Equipment Manager, who made his debut in a spot for the brand’s ‘Personal price plans.’ The character, who dons a mullet and plays a jazzy saxophone, would fit perfectly in an Adult Swim show, marking a shift in the brand’s creative strategy.
Fans are encouraged to dive even deeper by dialing the Jazz Bath Hotline at 1-866-JAZZ-BATH to get relaxation tips from Jeff himself. The new spot, as well as the hotline and a limited number of free CDs, will be live on myjazzbath.com, effective November 21.
