The FA Pushes Youth Positivity Play With All-star Video Message

The Football Association is playing its part championing wellbeing by inviting some of its best-known players to talk about their own positive experiences in life to inspire youth footballers.

To achieve this parents and coaches are encouraged to be more positive in their own approaches, distributing their own uplifting experiences on social media via the hashtag #WeOnlyDoPositive.

Running over three weeks, the approximate time needed for a behavioural change to be cemented as a habit, the campaign will distribute a steady stream of emails incorporating hints, tips and insight for coaches.

England midfielder Jesse Lingard, blind team midfielder Azeem Amir, FC Barcelona star Toni Duggan and Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley will all serve as the public face of the campaign.

Duggan remarked: “Growing up, I was lucky to have a great support network in my family and coaches around me. My mum never once told me there wasn’t a future in women’s football. Without their Positivity and belief, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I’ll always be grateful.

“There’s no doubt in my mind the importance positivity can have in early football development.”

21 Days of Positivity forms part of the FA’s ‘We Only Do positive’ Respect campaign which seeks to encourage better behaviour on and off the pitch at youth football matches.
