Wildstone founders Damian Cox and Patrick Fisher have shown their hand in an ambitious £1.5bn Europe-wide Billboard acquisition drive with the goal of establishing themselves as the single biggest owner of Outdoor Advertising real estate in the world.
Best known for their roll-out of oversized roadside digital Advertising hoardings alongside some of the UK’s most traffic clogged locales the enterprising ad duo assist landlords, property owners and local authorities wishing to harness the unutilised potential of high traffic areas.
Now, following a joint venture with a US asset management firm, Wildstone is set to supersize its own operations still further by snapping up thousands of realized and potential billboard sites around Europe by transitioning from a billboard designer to owners in their own right.
Cox remarked: “Wildstone started off purely as a consultative business, essentially promoting landlords’ property for the use of outdoor advertising sites.
“Recently, we have transferred our focus onto becoming the largest independent landlord of billboard-only property assets ie: we own the land on which a billboard is sited.”
Fisher added: “Beyond great design, we strive to find ways in which we can add value to the local areas and communities we work in. This includes community curated artwork on an architectural scale shown in Shoreditch; community gardens delivered in Lambeth; community development funds proposed in Birmingham and most recently Pulse, best-in-class telecommunications city technology delivered to town and city centres at no cost to the user, or the tax payer.”
Wildstone now operates across Germany, France, Ireland and Spain, generating £16m turnover last year – a figure expected to triple for 2018.
Wildstone is Cox’s third outdoor advertising business having sold off two previous media businesses, including one to US-based Clear Channel.
