Jordan Peele and Tilda Swinton travel to the moon in latest Lyft ads

Jordan Peele And Tilda Swinton Travel To The Moon In Latest Lyft Ads

In Lyft’s latest ads, actress Tilda Swinton and comedian Jordan Peele are seen orbiting the moon while the pair muse over the crucial role that transportation plays in many of life’s adventures.

The ads, which see the duo travel back in time to 1971 to take part in the Apollo missions, are part of Lyft’s recently-launched ‘It Matters How You Get There’ campaign. The effort takes a swipe at controversy-laden rival Uber, with Swinton uttering lines like, “if you choose to ride with the right people, who do things for the right reasons, you’ll always end up in the right place.”

The first iteration of the campaign, which was unveiled last month, featured Jeff Bridges riding in a wagon on the Oregon Trail in 1836 while waxing poetic about the importance of making the right choices in life.

The ride-sharing app’s latest advertising push also includes a number of 15-second films that are set to run on social. Featuring Swinton in the driver’s seat with Peele as her passenger, the films humorously juxtapose the grandeur of space travel with everyday mundane questions that Lyft users likely ask on a regular basis - for instance, in one, Peele asks Swinton if she can “turn back” since he forgot his sunglasses at home.

Wieden + Kennedy New York, which was named agency of record for Lyft earlier this year, created the ads.
