Short Review Of Tuft and Needle:
If you would like the short version of our review, then here it is;
First up, this mattress is made of polyfoam rather than the visco elastic foam which is used by many mattress manufacturers. Structurally Polyfoam takes some characteristics of the latex mattress and couples it together with that of foam to give stunning comfort and support. Simply put, it’s a memory foam and latex rolled into one.
It comes with a removable rayon and polyester Tactel cover which is soft and offers a great feel. The cover should be tumble dried to avoid it shrinking.
The mattress has an above average firmness and is less firm than its earlier version. It also has a medium response to body contour.
Who is Tuft and Needle Mattress For?
According to the analysis that we conducted, the mattress has shown stunning performance for;
Side sleepers who are below 200 lbs – With perfect pelvic rotation, ample support and just the right firmness, this mattress is excellent for side sleepers.
Back sleepers and stomach sleepers who are below 180 lbs –Here the mattress also seem to have tremendous results.
Note: We tested the mattress with the two type of sleepers under the weights mentioned and also gathered user reviews.
If you are not within the bracket above, It doesn’t mean it won’t work for you, but this is based on the multitude stats from real users who have had the mattress. The satisfaction scale favors this group. You can take advantage of the 30 days trial to know if it is your mattress, or you can return it free.
We are still to test the mattress with people who are over 220 lbs to determine if it offers enough support for plus size people.
The mattress also offers ample relief for people who experience back pain, thanks to its ability to conform well to the body.
We also recommend this mattress to anyone who wants good value for their mattress investment. For its low price tag and unchallenged comfort and support, this mattress has beaten many luxury mattresses in the industry.

In-depth Tuft and Needle Mattress Review
Here is the detailed version of our review;
Structure and Layering
The mattress measures 10 inches and has two layers of foam. The top layer is made of 2 inches and a density of 2.9 PCF (pounds per cubic foot). It offers the right comfort and just the right heat retention.
The second layer on the bottom which is the base foundation of this mattress measures 7 inches and has a density of 1.8 (PCF). This is a good density for the layer to provide sufficient support for most sleeping styles.
The use of polyurethane in both layers may be something that is unique and never before seen in mattress designs, but the good balance between the densities seems to have been an ingenious idea that finally ended up inspiring positive reactions from thousands of users.
If you work your body off during the day, then there is nothing more soothing and pampering than a mattress that perfectly hugs your body offering the much needed pressure relief. With a well-balanced firmness feel and contouring design of this mattress, you can be rest assured that your night will be a restful one.
Firmness/Softness and Sinkage
People have different desires when it comes to firmness and sinkage of a mattress and it is something worth clarifying. Mattress Sinkage is the depth that one experiences when they lay on a mattress.
Tuft and Needle mattress offers a medium-firm feel. This way the mattress appeals to many people with varied sleeping styles. The mattress has a reasonable sinkage leading to a comfortable and floating experience. The mattress has so far proven to be excellent with side sleepers, back sleepers as well as stomach sleepers. While considering firmness, weight is also something else that you should keep in mind.
If you however love to sleep on a rock-stiff mattress, then this isn’t the mattress for you.
If you like to sit at the edge or have people sit around the edge then you wouldn’t like to see your mattress starting to sag on the sides.
The foam density used provides enough support and the much needed elastic response to offer enough edge support. The manufacturer has even gone ahead and included sagging among the things covered in their 10 year warranty. This is excellent keeping in mind that most of the other manufacturers warranty covers a 1.2 inch sagging.
Nobody wants to sleep on a wobbly mattress or one that gets lopsided when their partner jumps in bed. While shopping for a mattress, a good choice should have sufficient support and avoid any wobbly motion when mass is exerted on another side.
Good enough tuft and needle mattress have taken care of this and enjoying a good night sleep and we also didn’t come across any complaint on the same.
After several tests that we conducted over time, we placed different objects including a glass of water and also having two people sleep on different parts of the mattress at the same time. The results were impressive as there was no motion isolation experienced.
Temperature buildup is something that many of us hate while we sleep. Nobody wants to experience sweating through the night.
Memory foam mattresses are known to keep heat and it usually takes ingenious design techniques for manufacturers to design a mattress that doesn’t retain a lot of heat.
Poly foam on the other hand, which has been used to manufacture Tuft and Needle is known to be a less heat retention material which guarantees you a cool night sleep. The mattress has been designed with a unique air-flow structure which helps in maintaining cool air circulation as you sleep. There is also a special surface treatment on the foundation layer which helps to draw away the heat from the mattress. So you can forget about sweaty nights and sleep cool.
The definition of mattress comfort may be more of a personal feel for many people and may vary but it all boils down to the performance and how it conforms to the body.
This mattress scores high when it comes to comfort.We’d even argue that it measures up with the likes of Tempur Pedic mattress, which is rated as a luxury class mattress. From our in-depth analysis where we scanned stats from thousands, we hardly came across a comfort issue. Instead there has been lots of rave on how people enjoy sleeping on the mattress.
On a comfort scale we give Tuft and Needle a firm 9/10, where 10 is the most comfortable.
No more tossing and turning because of poor support and a mattress that doesn’t conform well to your body.
Does It Off Gas?
Yet another thing that you need to look for in a mattress is off gassing. Although it is something that is very common in almost every foam mattress to has, it shouldn’t contain toxic chemical compounds that could be harmful.
Many people sleep on a cloud of chemicals which, with time enters the body system causing health complications. A good mattress shouldn’t be toxic and needs to comply with the health standards.
We did not notice any kind of smell with the mattress after unpacking it. Also from the multitude number of users, nobody seems to have any serious complaint regarding off-gassing.
Should you experience off-gassing on Tuft and Needle and see no signs of the smell dissipating then there could be a problem— you should consider contacting the manufacturer.
