Since staying at home is the number one recommended thing to do right now, it’s super important that you keep things sterilized in order to prevent spreading or contracting the virus. Below are some recommendations for what you can do to ensure things are clean for you and your loved ones.

Where to Start?

As this situation develops, Clean Arrival wants to let you all know that we’re here for you, your family, and our community. Even though we can’t personally come to clean your home during the current shutdown, we want you to understand that creating a clean and healthy environment in the home is our top priority. We have taken the time to put together some information below from our years of experience as well as the top-recommended safety and Cleaning standards for fighting infection.

We would like to recommend while we are not able to service your home, that you keep all your cleaning products and equipment sterilized and sanitary until we can come and take care of it for you. Our team has specific training that limits the spread of illnesses and pathogens, but that doesn’t mean you can’t take steps to protect yourself. We will provide some specific advice below on how best to combat the COVID-19 in your own home as well as reference important information provided by the EPA as well.

What Disinfectants work against COVID-19?

Please refer to this list provided by the EPA which will show you exactly what disinfectant products meet EPA’s criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, the novel coronavirus that causes the disease COVID-19.

Here are a few essential disinfectants that you may already have laying around the house or should be relatively easy to get ahold of. If your local grocery store is out of stock you can also order many of these products online and before buying you should make sure to check the label as most disinfectants should list the viruses they’re effective against, and that’s what you’ll want to look out for more than any particular active ingredient.

Common Disinfectants:

Disinfecting wipes such as Clorox, Lysol, or their generic store brand will do.
Disinfectant sprays such as Purell, Clorox, Lysol etc.
Isopropyl alcohol, commonly used in the hand sanitizer gel.
Hydrogen peroxide, incredibly useful for disinfecting and can be used in a spray bottle.

Please visit here for the full list of disinfecting products to use against the coronavirus.

How To Keep Your Home Virus-Free

We strive to provide only the best cleaning services utilizing enhanced disinfection practices with all of our services for our customers. While we utilize products that are EPA-approved for treating emerging pathogens we understand that you may not be as well equipped and would like to share some coronavirus House Cleaning Tips with you to help prevent infection.

Clean and Disinfect

Even if nobody in your home is sick, it’s super important to not only clean your home but disinfect everything as well. The CDC highly recommends we do both to ensure your home is safe and sanitary. You should understand that there’s a difference between cleaning and disinfecting. Cleaning is about removing contaminants from a surface whereas disinfecting is about killing pathogens, bacteria, germs and viruses, etc that may be lingering on objects around your home. It’s highly recommended to do both daily if anything or anyone has entered or exited your home. Transmission from person-to-person is a much greater risk than transmission via surfaces, but the CDC recommends we clean and disinfects high-touch surfaces in our homes at least once daily just to be safe.

Target High-Touch Surfaces

Researchers have found that the novel coronavirus is capable of living on surfaces such as cardboard for 24 hours, but up to two or three days on plastic and stainless steel. So cleaning and disinfecting high-touch surfaces is a step we should all take.

High-Touch Surfaces to Clean and Disinfect Daily:

  • Doorknobs
  • Table surfaces
  • Hard dining chairs
  • Kitchen counters
  • Bathroom counters
  • Faucets and faucet knobs
  • Toilets and Sinks
  • Light switches
  • TV and Game controllers

Step 1 Clean, Step 2 Disinfect:

The first thing you’re going to want to do is clean the surfaces around your home, removing any contaminants, dust, or debris. You can do this by wiping them with soapy water and a hand towel. You’ll then want to apply a surface-appropriate disinfectant using either wipes or a disinfectant spray. Adding these basic steps to your daily routine can help lower the risk of infection for you and anyone else in your household.
