Triple glazed Sliding Glass Door system was installed into the rear glass box extension in Midlands.
A renovation project was designed by the architect David Brown for the historical and traditional house in Leicester. The homeowners wanted to have expanded open plan kitchen and dining area. Therefore, a glass box extension was installed in backyard of the building.
Biophilic design was effective on the designing process. The homeowners wanted to have a place that strongly connected to the nature. Therefore, same flooring material is used inside of the extension and garden sitting area.
minimal Windows Sliding Glass door was installed to provide the accesses between the inside of the glass extension and the garden area. Triple glazed sliding door system was chosen to create more thermal effective glazing for the extension. The sliding glass door was installed as four panes configuration with two fixed and two sliding.
minimal windows sliding glass door system had minimal 26mm sightlines to be able carry the deeper triple glazed units. However, high quality aluminium framing provided lighter sliding glass door to control manually. The aluminium frames also provide high thermal performance and create the nice temperature to live comfortably all year around.
The slimmest framing also maximises the glazing experience to enjoy the stunning landscape view in every weather condition. Natural light floods into the living space from glass doors and highlights the biophilic interior design.
minimal windows sliding glass door system was combined with other high performance glazing solutions like a glass roof and casement window in the glazed roof extension. A large sized aluminium framed casement windows was installed on the one of the elevations to provide the natural light to every corner.
A big structural glass roof was installed with steel supports. The steel supports were chosen to match with the traditional house style. The rest of all aluminium framings were painted with black powder coating to protect the style of the extension.
