Photo: Robin Wendell Naples is known for its nearly year-round sunshine and blue skies, making it the perfect place to get out an enjoy the scenic surroundings. If you’re looking for a place to just kick back and relax while enjoying a picnic, you’ll find several great spots. Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park has some shaded picnic areas and some public grills. It’s a popular spot for collecting seashells, sunbathing, snorkeling, fishing and even bird watching. If you’re celebrating a special occasion at the park, you may be able to rent out a pavilion. The park sometimes has food and beverages for sale, plus you can find rentals, such as umbrellas and beach chairs, canoes, kayaks, and paddleboards. Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park is located off Vanderbilt Drive, just to the north of Vanderbilt Beach neighborhood. Cambier Park Old Naples is full of charm, and so is Cambier Park. This downtown park sits close to Fifth Avenue South, making it the perfect spot to take a stroll and set up a picnic lunch. If you time it right, you may even be able to take advantage of one of the park’s free live concerts. Cambier Park has a covered pavilion and some shaded picnic areas. You’ll also find a playground, some shuffleboard and bocce courts, a tennis center, and a community theater in the park. Lowdermilk  Just to the north Old Naples in the Coquina Sands neighborhood, Lowdermilk Park is a great spot for family picnics. The park has two rentable pavilions, playgrounds, and a duck pond. You’ll also find a food concession stand, volleyball courts and facilities. Sugden Regional Park Sugden Regional Park is the only public, freshwater lake beach in the area. It’s a fun place to go for a picnic, cast a line from the pier, or just sit back and dip your toes in the sand. Found on the east side of Naples, you can take sailing or water-skiing lessons at Sugden, plus there’s plenty of room for kayaking, too. You can even rent a paddleboat at the park.
