Living Room Before and after take two

Good evening beautiful people.

So way back in June 2017 I wrote a blog post with inspiration for our Living room makeover and in the August we actually redecorated the room, and yet it’s only now I’m blogging about it. Shocking!

Since setting this blog up over a year ago, I haven’t even finishing showing you around  all our renovation and before and afters. I really need to get my act together!

Ok, so this blog post isn’t my usual before and after as this time it was a case of redecorating and not renovating. To read all about our lounge renovation click here.

Before

Inspiration

I really am a colour lover but as work and life get more full on, home plays an even bigger part in being a haven and a place to chill. We wanted a warm, calming room, and a laid back place to hang our with the buns in the evenings.

I first came across Farrow and Balls, Peignoir when Cate St Hill made over her master bedroom. I’ve been loving the blush trend and this was perfect. Not too pink, not too feminine. Surprisingly Mr. Matt was on board straight away. He says after all this time he’s learned not to question my design choices because they always look “amazing” when the jobs finished.

I absolutely loved Cate’s use of White and Grey and for a long time that was my plan for our living room, however, there were two things bugging me.

One, could I live without colour and two, what about our Green tiles?!

It was at this point I was Googling the crap out of Peignoir that I discovered a blog post by Geraldine from Little Big Bell. I’ve followed Little Big Bell for aaaages so was super chuffed that she had the answers… Peignoir with pops of colour!

So that was that, I decided to introduce Green to bring in my tiles. The problem was finding green accessories that worked, not just generic stuff for the sake of it. Then I had a brainwave… Introduce a ‘trend’ that up until this point I just didn’t like… Botanicals. Plants would bring in the green and soften the room. Turns out… I love a room of plants, I just can’t keep them alive!
