Osprey’s 3 Rules for Waterfront Living

Who doesn’t want to live by the water? It’s beautiful, serene, and energizing all at the same time. These days there are plenty of places in Portland if you’re looking to live near the water.  Osprey Apartments in the South Waterfront neighborhood is one such place, where you can enjoy everything that comes with a riverfront residence. But, you have to make sure you take full advantage. Now that the weather is getting nice, here are our top three rules for Waterfront Living.

1. Take Advantage While You Can

Let’s be honest, the weather in the Rose City isn’t always totally beach friendly; the past winter was a pretty good example of this. So, when the sun actually decides to make an appearance, you should take the opportunity to get out and experience a couple awesome activities on the Waterfront:

Relish the South Waterfront Greenway

The Greenway is a gorgeous linear park that just so happens to be right in the backyard of our South Waterfront apartments in Portland. Here, you can enjoy walking, running, and biking paths, or just relax on the lawn and appreciate views and wildlife.

Take it up a notch and grab a kayak or paddleboard from the team at Osprey! Osprey Apartments now has a variety of kayaks and paddleboards available for resident use so that you can get right into the Willamette from our own backdoor. It’s waterfront Living at its best!

1. Take a Walk on the Tilikum Crossing

The Tilikum Crossing is also known as the Bridge of the People. “People” includes you, so how could you not check it out?! This is a very cool way to make your way across the Willamette River and into the Central Eastside District. While the Portland Streetcar, MAX Orange Line, and other forms of public transportation also make use of the bridge, you won’t have to worry about walking in the midst of actual traffic — private cars and trucks are not allowed.

2. Work Out the Logistics

This may sound like serious business, but it’s really not. Waterfront living often inspires PDX-ers to get out and explore their incredible surroundings on a regular basis. In many cases, this involves bikes, kayaks, paddleboards, and straight-up fun. The only issue that may arise — finding a spot for all that gear.

At Osprey, this isn’t a problem. We made sure to account for nature lovers and adventure seekers when we designed our amenities. Not only do we have a storage area for outdoor gear on the first floor, but also we have bike parking on floors two through six. This means it’s a cinch to walk out of your apartment, grab your bike, kayak, or paddleboard and be on your merry way.

3. Share a Bit of Waterfront Living With Others

Sharing is caring! It would be a shame to keep the beauty of the Waterfront all to yourself. Luckily, Osprey can help you host your beloved friends and family in n fabulous setting! Our riverfront terrace courtyard is ideal for parties, casual gatherings, or just a place to take in a breath of fresh air. Here are some highlights of this fantastic space:

  • Plenty of comfortable seating
  • BBQs
  • Fire pits
  • Stunning views of the Willamette, Tilikum Crossing, Ross Island, and the Portland sky

Of course, these aren’t the only ways Osprey Apartments maximizes waterfront living. We’ve curated several other features that are meant to make you feel like there’s nowhere else you’d rather live. As a resident, you also have access to a 24/7 fitness center, and a community lounge with full kitchen, comfy seating, flat screen TVs, and foosball, ping-pong, and pool table. Plus, there’s another well-appointed courtyard, and WIFI is complimentary in all the community spaces. Oh, and our apartment homes are elegant, modern, spacious, and comfortable.

You know, it might be better if you come check us out for yourself! Contact Osprey to find out more about waterfront living in our neck of the woods!
