Roses and Leaves

We got to take home the dozen Roses that adorned our military table Sunday.

On my morning walk around the neighborhood.

LISTEN  -

Perfect morning for a Fall walk - leaves glistening in the breeze...

 So many layers of color

The same type of tree - but individually they all change colors at different times. I think it might have to do with sun exposure.

My yard

My tree is sheltered by my incense cedar - it is one of the last in the neighborhood to change.

The really cold weather has passed - snow is slowly melting away on some of our closer mountains.

The scrub oaks and other Oak in the area have not changed colors. Many do not -  and keep their leaves all throughout the year.

Not much going on - I roasted a whole Chicken yesterday - it was very good. I've decided I prefer Roast chicken to roast turkey. I'm glad I am not hosting Thanksgiving this year. It is still cheaper to buy a whole rotisserie chicken at Costco than it is to roast it at home. It's still $4.99. I wonder how long they can hold out?

Yesterday I went to the Goodwill and to the Salvation Army - just looking for things I can make over - and looking for mini doll furniture...I came home with a small shelf instead for $3.00

It's about 10 inches wide and has a plate groove -  What can I say? I liked it.
