Snow and a snowy waterfall

Here's a satellite view of California and all the snow.

I'm at the top of the central valley closest to the east side (foothills)

Navy sent me his video of a waterfall at Whiskeytown Lake.

We normally do not do shopping on the weekends - but the husband needed jeans so we went to Costco and he bought 2 pair for only $19.99 - He also treated me to lunch - the hot dog and beverage for $1.99.

Yesterday we went to Applebees for dinner.  It actually was good this time. In early 2021 we went there and it was horrible. The tables were sticky, the service was terrible, the food was cold and just didn't taste good. I gave them a bad review on Yelp. Now I will give them a good review - we had a awesome server and the meal was hot - the place was clean. A pleasant eating experience.

It's fun when you get out with Military people - while waiting, we talked to a guy who lost his leg in Vietnam - at another table the guy had been a sniper. I saw many Korean war vets, with their hats on and a group of men and their wives that belonged to the Cuttlefish submarine group - they served in WW2, Korea and Vietnam.

Those who served on the submarines get extra pay - because it's dangerous and its purely voluntary. You have to be okay with very tight spaces.  They grow close and start clubs - that exists all over the country. Ours is the Redding chapter and they make it to as many military functions as they can.

We also have the Pearl Harbor Survivors Group - they always wear a Hawaiian shirt and sadly, we only have one left. When we first moved here 14 Years Ago, there were ten.

I'll go now - I do tend to go on and on when I speak about the military. A few years ago I was the President of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary Group. A year after I left they changed it to just Auxiliary and then the group totally disbanded - no more auxiliary group for the spouses. It used to be really fun and we did a lot.

Okay, that's it - I'm done.
