Not Yet

It's not that hot - it just gets to the point, where you finally get sick of it. That is where I am at. I don't enjoy it. May, June, July, and August - are fine.

Put a fork in me, because I am DONE!

I planted 3 planters with inpatients - I've decided they don't like the Heat. They can't even hold out in the Shade of the heat. This is the only one that has bloomed beautifully.

This one struggles - you can see the dry leaves on the ground -
due to hot dry temps.

This one is just about dead - I will try and save it and plant it in a pot where I can keep it in some shade.

After my walk, we drove on over to Whiskeytown Lake - to give Laydee her swim.

This is a nice fishing pier that is ADA-assisable for the handicapped.

We used to take Pops over there to fish since he was in a wheelchair.

You can see all the tree sticks from the Carr fire back in 2018.

That mountain used to be covered in trees.

It still has beauty to me - Nature tries to repair itself and is doing a pretty good job.

Nice picnic area - no one is there at the picnic area. It will be packed this labor Day weekend.

I told the husband since we live so close, we should go over there one morning, give Laydee her swim and I make breakfast. I'll wait till it gets a bit cooler though.

We do not have any plans for this Labor Day weekend. I've never been a big holiday weekend person. If I was going to do anything, I'd do it either before or after.

The Lamp

I ran into a problem with one of the lamps late yesterday afternoon. Something I have to do over and it just frustrates me.

Then it donned on me, I have to buy a shade and it's not easy trying to find the right shade. I have to measure 4 different ways - pick the shade style - there are drums, empire lampshades, then you have to consider the harp fitter or shade riser.

Calgon take me away!

I'm afraid to place an online order and then if it doesn't look right, I'd have to mail it back. So next week, I'm thinking I will hit Walmart, and Target for lamp shades. I may just buy them, come home, try them on and return what I don't like.

Crazy I know - that's provided they have a decent selection which these days you never know.

I'm already thinking I should have thought this out better - this is turning into a bit of a nightmare that I am stuck in.

Take care!
