One Stamp At A Time Blog Tour

Flourishing Phrases Shabby Chic

I’m excited to share some fun, Shabby Chic cards along with an Envelope Punch Board Card Box.  The Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set is the inspiration for the Shabby Chic projects that I’m sharing.  Its been a while since I really created a Shabby Chic style project and they are fun (and fussy).  My original plan totally changed when I decided to use the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set.  Enjoy!  I also hope you are inspired and find yourself wanting to create some fun, Shabby Chic projects in the near future.

Project #1 – Flourishing Phrases Shabby Chic with Watermelon Wonder

First, I stamped a card front with the Hardwood Background stamp using Crumb Cake Classic Ink then distressed with my Paper Snips and tore the corners.  On the second layer, I used and distressed the Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper then placed a Delicate White Doily behind a corner. Next, I used the Woodgrain Textured Embossing Folder to the finished card front.

The Flourishing Phrases flourish is stamped using Watermelon Wonder Classic Ink.  Then, I used Crumb Cake for the sentiment with the frame from the Helping Me Grow stamp set stamped with Watermelon Wonder.  A small floral accent from the Flourish Thinlits is added as an extra touch of Shabby Chic.  Also, my tag is cut using the Rose Garden Thinlits.

Finally, a touch of Pearl Jewels adds a to the Shabby Chic theme along with more of the Delicate White Doily.  The Classy Designer Button tied with Linen Thread continues with theme. Burlap Ribbon completes the look!

Project #2 – Flourishing Phrases with the Flourish Thinlits

The second card continues the Shabby Chic theme of the first card.  The base is identical other than I used a different pattern from the Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper.  I also didn’t do the same amount of distressing on layers opting to only tear then distress the bottom corner.

Instead of stamping the flourish in the background I used the Flourish Thinlits with Watermelon Wonder card stock.  Watermelon Wonder is used for the sentiment and the outline is stamped with Crumb Cake.  I attached the tag on the center more towards the bottom third of the card overlapping the flourish.

Again, the Pearl Jewels continues the continuity of the Shabby Chic theme.  I love how the Delicate White Doily peaks out from under the tag.  Additionally, using the Night of Navy Baker’s Twine with the Classy Designer Button instead of the Linen Thread pulls out the colors in the Affectionally Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Project #3 – Affectionately Yours Envelope Punch Card Box

In addition, a card box is a great way to package cards together along with envelopes to give as a gift.  I used the Envelope Punch Board to create the box.  Quick tip… using the Envelope Punch Board for card boxes is actually very easy.

Furthermore, a belly band is a great way to decorate the envelope box.  The belly band is the back side of the Affectionately Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper.  A tag is used to hide the seam where I glued the belly band together.

Since the Belly Band will be removed, I kept the decorations simple while mirroring the cards.  First, the sentiment is stamped using Watermelon Wonder and a sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set then cut out with the Rose Garden Thinlits.  Behind the tag, I tucked a small piece of the Delicate White Doily which adds to the continuity of the Shabby Chic theme.  Next, I used a tiny flower framelit from the Flourish Thinlits for the flower.  Finally, the Metal Rimmed Pearl finishes the tag while adding to the Shabby Chic theme.
