Hyundai’s best-selling model in America, the Elantra compact sedan was first imported to the U.S. for 1991. The model was redesigned for 2001 when the GT trim was added, and it received styling updates for 2004. The redesigned 2007 Elantra is the seventh model from Hyundai in just 24 months with a new design from headlight to taillight, more safety features and interior space. Available in GLS, SE and Limited trims, the Elantra has an all-new chassis with a fully independent suspension with a body that’s up to 49 percent stiffer.

After getting a total makeover for 2007, the 2008 Hyundai Elantra adds more standard equipment including Electronic Stability Control on SE, Brake Assist to the SE and a tire-pressure-monitoring system on all trims. The Elantra SE Premium and Leather Package replace the Elantra Limited.
