Product Review: Litchfield Paint Station + More Khorne Daemonkin

Another acquisition from Scott's Kapiti Hobby Corner with the arrival today of a Litchfield + Fields Ltd Paint Station.  They're a local company also located in Kapiti and outside of their specialist architectural products they also make hobby related materials from Laser cut MDF including buildings.  The product I acquired was a new arrival to Scott's store a Paint Station.  They make a couple of different variations that cater for Tamiya, Vallejo, and GW size paint pots.

The station comes in a single bag all ready to assemble.  The pieces fit together nicely and while there aren't any instructions its easy enough to figure out where things go.  I would advise dry fitting everything first just to get things right.  While most of the pieces fit together neatly it does need to be glued together to be usable.  PVA or Wood Glue is fine although personally I've always found Super Glue works fine with MDF.

The finished stand it took me about 5 minutes to put it together and while you could paint I'm not going to (at least not yet).  The bottom try is removable and can be slid out.  Each shelf is in two pieces the main shelf that slots into the back and sides and the piece with the holes that you glue on top once the station has been put together.

A big plus with the kit are the small rings you get with it.  You can fit these into holes to adjust them for different product types.  In their standard size they fit Tamiya and GW paints. GW sit a little looser.  With the addition of the rings you can fit the Vallejo paints in - however this particular station was built with GW paints in mind.

There is also another version of the stand that is the same size vertically & horizontally but with shelves catering for Vallejo & Model Color products.

Price was very reasonable at NZ$40 and if you want to order one contact Scott at the Hobby Corner. Really happy with it, will order a couple more next pay day.

More Khorne Daemonkin
Also a good day for my Chaos Space Marines/Khorne Daemonkin with a local purchase from another local gamer whose decided he wants to sell his stuff as he doesn't have time to play anymore.  A good deal is a good deal and I picked up 2 Skull Cannons, a Maulerfiend, 6 Bikers, 6 Bloodcrushers and 10 Flesh Hounds for $150.  That gives me enough really boost out my Khorne army and saves me the hassle of getting another Daemons of Khorne Starter set.

Most of them are painted, pretty well in fact, but I need to base them all and redo the paint so they look more like my current collection.  Gives me a lot of options for Warpstorm in October.
