Doll Craft: How To Make A Tassel Necklace!

Is your doll in need of some new jewelry? Make her a Tassel necklace! These are super trendy right now and a nice way to add a pop of color. Let's get started!

The supplies you'll need are:

  • Thread
  • Scissors
  • Cardboard or Thick Cardstock
  • Thin Ribbon
  • Small Jewelry Jump Rings

1. Your cardboard should be one and half inches wide and two and half inches long. Now take the thread and start it at the back of the cardboard. Hold the piece tight as you wind the rest of the thread around the cardboard. You'll need to wind it around 15 times. 2. When that's done cut off the excess thread. 3. Cut a piece of thread around six inches long and carefully tuck it underneath the wound up thread, pulling it through. 4. Tie a double knot and cut off the ends. 5. Slide thread off of the cardboard. 6. Cut a piece of thread 12 inches long and make two more knots over the first knot. This will be the top of the tassel. Do not cut the ends. 7. Take one end and wrap around the tassel top 5 times. Then tie both ends together to form another knot. 8. Put your scissors through the loops and give them a trim. 9. Open the jump ring and slide it through the top of the thread. 10. Slide a piece of ribbon through the jump ring to make the necklace. And, you're done!!

Your doll now has a unique piece of jewelry handmade by YOU! :)

The best part about this craft is that there are so many colors of thread out there. The possibilities are endless!
