Hello and welcome to Podcast 107, which you can watch on YouTube below.

Gadgets that help me crochet

In this podcast, I’m reviewing a few of my favourite gadgets, which I usually buy from small sellers on Ebay or Etsy. All of the ones I’m showing are from Ebay.

  • Wooden swift – I bought this more than a year ago now and it was from a seller who provided fair trade items. This is a similar one available on Ebay UK.
  • Cake winder – this is an unbranded one that is available from many sellers and has actually gone down in price since I bought mine. Its similar to this one.
  • Granny square and motif board blocker – this one is from a very small UK home business. Currently they have three boards available.
  • Wool Jeanie – I bought this last week from another UK seller and they currently have more than 10 available. I think you can also buy it outside Ebay.
  • Wooden sock blockers – I got mine from this seller on Ebay UK and they are very good value at just under £5 for two plus postage. Note that you need to order two at the same time as they are sold singly. No sign of any mitten blockers, sadly.

Many thanks to Marion for her help and collaboration on the feature on her blankets. The sound quality was tricky but this was a phone conversation! She is so interesting to listen to and her blankets are just amazing.

Giveaways for this episode

Marion has very kindly agreed to give two of her patterns away to two winners who are viewers of this episode.

The two patterns available are the Beach walk blanket…

And her new pattern, the Christmas blanket…

To enter the giveaway, add a comment below the video and say which pattern you like the best and why! I’ll announce the winners in a vlog and you will need to add your Ravelry or Instagram user name so I can contact you.

Etsy shop news

I will be dyeing up some Christmas mini sets and some seasonal colourways in the next couple of weeks so look out for the vlog announcing they will be coming. I’ll ask you to email me to register your interest so I can get an idea of how much to stir up in the dyepots.

Ways you can support me (if you’d like)

Have a browse in my Etsy shop and see if any of my yarns tickle your fancy.

Join me on Patreon with a subscription of a few $ a month and get access to Patreon-only content. During the Covid-19 crisis I’ll be running regular virtual meet ups for my $6 a month Patrons.

Buy me a £3 coffee through Ko-fi. I’m investing half of all coffee money and 10% of my Patreon income into craft-based businesses in areas of the world struggling with poverty. The projects are all through www.kiva.org and you can read more about them here.

The costs-you-nothing options

Just click on one of the ads in the right margin – I get a few pence per click and it doesn’t cost you anything.

If you are buying anything through Amazon, use this links below to start browsing. Again, I get a few pence towards an Amazon purchase and it adds nothing to your item price.

Subscribe to my newsletter (fill in the box top right), my YouTube channel and follow me on Instagram. A few likes or a quick comment on social media are always very welcome and help my posts and videos to be seen by more people

And just so you know… my posts occasionally feature sponsored and affiliate links. This costs you nothing but helps towards the expenses of hosting my blog xxx
