Here’s the second part of the baby quilt pattern that I have made using the PFAFF creative icon.
In yesterday’s post, I showed you how to piece the blocks for this week’s easy Baby Quilt pattern. Today, I’ll show you how to finish the baby quilt in no time at all.
As mentioned yesterday, I always start a new project by changing my needle and cleaning my machine.
I love how easy it is to remove the plate and clean the Pfaff Creative Icon. There’s nothing stressful about it. And I can always have a quick access to the user’s manual on the screen of the machine. If I’m not sure what to do, I press the ? on the screen and I get all the help I need.
I used the wonderful Sleepy Sloth collection from Northcott. Keep in mind that the quilt size is 45″ x 60″.
LINKING BLOCK
STEP 1
- Sew two (2) M strips to a L strip
- Makes a 14½” strip
- Repeat to make two (2)
Cut the strips as follow:
- 14½” x 15½” (N)
- 14½” x 25” (O)
- 14½” x 10½” (P)
- 14½” x 7½” (Q)
- 14½” x 22” (R)
ASSEMBLING YOUR BLOCK
STEP 1
- Sew blocks P + A + N + A + Q
- Makes a 14½” x 60½” rectangle
- Sew your M rectangle to the left of your rectangle
- Makes a 21½” x 60½” rectangle
STEP 2
- Sew blocks O + B + R
- Makes a 14½” x 60½” rectangle
- Sew your N rectangle to the right of your rectangle
- Makes a 24½” x 60½” rectangle
STEP 3
- Sew Step 1 to the left of Step 2
For the last three steps of the quilt, I don’t take any chances… I pin my borders together starting with the ends and middle than adding the pins in the center of two pins. I continue until my pins are about 6 inches apart. This ensures that I sew only once and I have no wrinkles in the piece.
Congratulations, your quilt top is finished!
See how fast that was! The three main blocks are the main attraction and you don’t need much more to have a great visual effect, which makes this the easiest baby quilt pattern ever!
