Ski Sweater ~ An Organized Scrap Quilt, Part One

The Quilt I'm making for the March Island Batik Ambassador challenge is currently titled Ski Sweater.  I don't ski.  I do own some sweaters.  I don't know why, but my quilt design idea makes me think "Ski Sweater".  Sometimes I wonder what's going on in my own head.

We're supposed to be making scrap quilts this month.  This is my fourth year as an Island Batik Ambassador, so I have a big pile of scrap fabric to work with.  I went crazy going through my stash to pick out just the right fabrics.  It was fun to be able to pull from all different collections and put them together into one project.  I was able to cut all of my pieces for this quilt with my Accuquilt Go.

I made a lot of solid white and gray Nine Patch blocks for my quilt.

I made a variety of colorful blocks with my scrap fabrics.  This is one of my pink blocks.

This is how six of the Pink blocks look together on my design wall.  I may use this idea for a future quilt.

This is another one of the blocks I made for my quilt.  You can see the colors flowing out from one corner in these purple/blue/gray blocks.

Here's a little peeky at Ski Sweater being quilted.  I'm putting the finishing touches on this project now.  I hope I can finish it up this week and show you the big reveal.

In the meanwhile, check out what my fellow Island Batik Ambassadors are creating here:
