A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop Broadway Star

Check out A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop with the Broadway Star for the June Kit. This month Stampin’ Up! did something totally different by coordinating the Paper Pumpkin Kit with a bundle from the 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. It is such a fun, awesome set and even better now that it coordinates with a bundle.

A Paper Pumpkin Thing Blog Hop

Broadway Star

Today I’m coming to you from Wray, CO where I’m visiting fellow Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and hopper. We are having a blast while our kids play. I love to travel. One of the perks of being a demonstrator is that I’ve met so many other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators around the world. In July, I look forward to catching up with my friend Sandy Carlson in Fargo, ND. In the meantime, Andrea and I are having a blast crafting together while our kids play. But, don’t worry, we are also taking time to go play and enjoy the community pool.

Paper Pumpkin Alternative Projects

This months kit is called Broadway Star and, as I mentioned, it coordinates with a bundle from the 2018-2019 Stampin’ Up! Catalog. The projects I have for you today include a clean and simple card along with a Gable Box decorated using the Paper Pumpkin Kit. You need to check out the Broadway Bound Suite in the catalog.

Project #1 – Wish Clean and Simple Card

I enjoyed making this card. The Broadway Bound Suite is amazing and I love that it coordinates with this months Paper Pumpkin. I’ve actually not purchased the Broadway Bound Suite but since I’m visiting Andrea Tracy-Tucker, I was able to play with hers. Let me just say, the Broadway Birthday Bundle is now on my MUST purchase list.

This card is a clean and simple card. I’ve stamped the background using the Birthday Backgrounds Stamp Set with Lemon Lime Twist Classic Ink. The label is from the Paper Pumpkin Kit. The “wish” is die cut from Lemon Lime Twist cardstock and the die is from the Broadway Lights Framelits.

I added silver metallic thread behind the “wish.” It is interesting that the “W” isn’t attached to the “ish.” I was able to attach the silver metallic thread to the “ish.” Then I added gold sequins to the card. The gold sequins are included with the Paper Pumpkin Kit. But, the card was still missing something! After some thought, I used the stamp set that comes with the Paper Pumpkin Kit and stamped the sentiment on a banner which I attached to the “W.”

Project #2 – Paper Pumpkin Gable Box

I think this is the first project where I’ve used the Gable Box. These boxes are really awesome and fit lots of treats inside. Back in 2004, Stampin’ Up! used to carry a similar Gable Box which I used for my wedding as the Guest Wedding Favors. I love that the Gable Box currently offered by Stampin’ Up! is silver.

The wrap used on the Gable Box is actually a card base from the Paper Pumpkin Kit that I cut to fit the box. I just cut the card base to fit the box and used the score mark as the corner piece. Again, I used the label that is included with the kit. The gold foil “Hooray” is also included in the kit. I love the silver and gold metallics on this project.

Party Hat Die

Did you notice the party hat? The Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper includes a pattern with party hats. As part of the Broadway Lights Framelits, there is a die that perfectly coordinates and cuts out the party hat. The additional of the party hat is a fun accent.

Next, I just needed to add the sentiment with the Hooray. I’ve stamped the sentiment with Lemon Lime Twist on the small banner included with the kit. I trimmed the ends of the banner at an angle. Then, I finished the card by adhering the sentiment with mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
