DIY Moss Orb Lanterns

Need a little whimsy in your life? These DIY Moss Orb Lanterns are a must-do for summer and they are so easy to make! I grabbed a few rolls of this moss ribbon after Easter for 90% off and have had so many ideas on ways to use it, but this might just be my favorite. You can find this ribbon at most craft stores and it’s the perfect accessory for summer. What you need: moss ribbon, hot glue gun, twine, scissors, LED lights I decided how long I wanted these DIY moss orb lanterns and cut the ribbon to length. Then I cut the ribbon in half because I wanted thinner lines. I used 2 pieces for each lantern. Use your hot glue gun to glue the two ends of the ribbon together. Glue your second ribbon piece around the first. Take a piece of twine and wrap around the top of your lantern. Use a drop of hot glue between the ribbon and twine. Cut a small piece of the moss ribbon so it’s large enough to fit around your candle. Glue the ends together. Add hot glue to the bottom and attach to the inside of your lantern. Add your LED lights. You don’t have to add the twine if you don’t want to hang them. They would look great sitting on tables, especially for a summer night party or BBQ. Hang around the yard by themselves or group them together. They would look good hanging from branches, hanging on the porch or under patio umbrellas… there are so many ways to use them. They are perfect for hanging inside the house also.
