Washi Tape Teacups with Free Printables

5 x 7 Washi Tape Cup Assemblage

If you have Washi Tape, my guess is you have a lot of it.  Those little rolls of tape usually come in mix and match collections and it is amazing how long each roll lasts.  Washi tape doesn’t last forever, the tape gets stiff over time and loses it’s stickiness so I am always trying to think of practical ways to use it up.

After I take down the Christmas decorations, the house seems bare and I can always see a place that could use a fresh piece of art, so that is how I got the idea for the teacup art.

I made a stack of cups on cardstock and cut them out so it would be easy to cover them in washi tape.  HINT:  I wrote numbers on the back of each one as I cut it out so it would be easier to know where they stacked.

STEP #1:  Print out the stacked cups pdf and cut the cups into individual pieces.

STEP #2:  Cover the cups with washi tape.  I covered the bottom cup horizontally and the other cups vertically.

STEP #3: Use paint pens or felt pens to paint the cup handles and use paint pens to decorate the cup handles.

STEP #4: Print out the background pdf if you wish.  I used a piece of 5 x 7 cardstock and adhered four different pieces of washi tape to decorate it (I REALY WANT to use up my collections LOL).

STEP#5: Use a glue stick to adhere the pieces to the background and assemble the frame.   SO EASY!
