Here’s my first Mother’s Day idea: a surprise inside greeting card! This card features Holographic cardstock paper inside and a washi tape decoration on the outside.

It is difficult to capture the prettiness and depth of holographic paper.  You can find holographic paper in all colors and patterns.

The cardstock paper needs to be 7″ wide at the minimum and at least 6 inches long.  Make a crisp fold 3″ from the end.

Print out the “MOM” pdf. that is at the end of the tutorial on cardstock and cut it out.

Cover the backside of the folded holographic cardstock with washi tape.

Making sure the “wow” is completely at the paper crease, hold the word securely and cut out the word with sharp scissors. (Instead of my normal craft scissors, I used my sharper sewing scissors.) TIP: Use a razor blade to cut a slit in the middle of the “O” to make a start for cutting the center.

If you use a paint pen or felt pen to outline the “O” that gives more definition.

It is a little surprise when the card is opened and the holographic “WOW MOM” is revealed!  The finished card measures 3 x 7.
