AIRVAPE LEGACY UNBOXING & REVIEW

AIRVAPE LEGACY REVIEW

Today I’ve received a much-awaited package in the mail: the new Airvape Legacy. Due to COVID-19 the release of this new flagship vaporizer from Airvape has been delayed a good while thus increasing the suspense somewhat and inevitably, raising my expectations.

To be honest, my approach was one of a skeptic towards the Legacy in part because 2020 has been so far an extremely disappointing year but also because by looking at the preview photos of this vape I get the impression that the focus point is on the beautiful design which makes me question its performance.

In my search for the “perfect vape” over the years, I’ve been repeatedly disillusioned by the fact that the best-looking vapes are not always the best-performing ones and vice versa.

Spoiler alert, I have been pleasantly surprised by this, gun-metal bad boy of a vape but let’s not get ahead of myself, I have many things to report so let me start at the beginning.

For me, the very first impression is always much influenced by the unboxing experience. Can’t help it, if the packaging is nice and fun to open I start liking the product even before I get to use it. The Box of the Legacy is not just beautiful but also gets extra points for being Eco-friendly.

As the first sort of protective layer came off, the unconventionally designed box revealed itself featuring a patterned sheet attached to the top of the box which when rotated displays a trippy optical illusion. Not necessarily useful but it makes the box look very interesting and together with the super comfortable magnetic latch type opening mechanism, this box appears like something I could definitely keep as vape-toolbox or just as a herb-organizer.

Inside the box, you’ll find the vaporizer of course along with a box for the accessories like cleaning tools and such, a user manual, and another smaller box containing a golden plated micro-dosing basket.

The Design

From the very first glance at this vaporizer, it becomes obvious that Airvape is done following conventions when it comes to designing its devices.

Never have I ever seen a vape that has fabric and leather on it and now I wonder why not, it looks and feels awesome.

When trying to figure out what could have inspired the creators of Legacy, things like a military fighter jet and the inside of an Aston Martin comes to mind. The look and feel of Legacy have definitely taken a leap from the previous Airvape models. This one has a more mature, elegant, luxury allure to it. Gold has been introduced into the palette of materials which normally I would consider a bit much, but now seeing how it complements the gunmetal of the Legacy I have to admit, it looks gorgeous.

The Performance

Enough about the outside, let’s see how well it does what it was designed to do namely, produce tasty clouds of vapor.

Three clicks of the power button, the screen comes to life and the well known little propellers start to spin around as the temperature counter begins to rise. After about 20 seconds a discreet vibration lets me know that the desired temperate was reached.

As I began my vaping sesh the first thing I noticed was the clean taste and the very comfortable drag resistance. The very first drag did not produce much vapor but after the second and third time I was already blowing out a good amount of clouds.

I kept the vape on for about 30-35 minutes straight and to my biggest surprise it never overheated. This is one of the very few vapes that doesn’t get too hot to the touch or at the mouthpiece, not even after extensive usage.

The Battery

The next big surprise was the battery life. After I continuously used it for almost 40 minutes the battery not only wasn’t drained but I kept on using it later for another 50 minutes. That is a major improvement from Airvape compared to the X model which admittedly was a thinner unit, battery life wasn’t nearly as good as this. Airvape Legacy also has an easily removable battery which I absolutely love since I much rather go on a longer trip and carry some extra batteries with me than to keep re-charging it.

CONCLUSION

Overall Airvape Legacy has not only met my increased expectations but surpassed it.

Yes, it is thicker and heavier than the Airvape X but for good reason; bigger, stronger and interchangeable battery, a removable glass air-tube that makes cleaning a hell of a lot easier, full convection, golden plated heating chamber that doesn’t overheat the case and it even has a packing tool discreetly attached on the inside.

This new model has a USB C charging port and it is the first Airvape that you can also charge wirelessly.

In conclusion, the Airvape Legacy has everything that I lacked in the Airvape X plus a few things I didn’t even know I wanted so, I have to give it a 5 out 5.
