Art on His Own Terms

I live near an upscale housing Development in a suburb of north eastern Orange County. My daughter and often pass by this development our way to a shopping center. On the corner of this development is a very quaint bronze statue of two ballerinas: a woman and child. Someone, presumably a suburban wanna-be "Guerilla Artist," frequently adds a little something to the statue, apparently in an attempt to keep things interesting In an otherwise sleepy suburb....

And then there are true guerilla artists, those whose work makes a statement, usually about a social or political condition that needs a new light shed into its darkness. A true guerilla artist is bold and usually controversial, yet has built a respected reputation through his/her art statements.
