Easy and Simple Filet Crochet Table Runner


Crochet Filet is a very easy Crochet technique which uses Chain Stitches and Double Crochets. Filet Crochet works up really quick. Filet is a very delicate technique that creates beautiful patterns. With just two simple stitches you can create lovely patterns.

Crochet Filet technique in itself is a very versatile. You can make many decorative crochet projects with this technique. Today am sharing the pattern for a Easy and Simple Filet Crochet Table Runner.

Table runners are very easy to crochet. You can make them in any size of your need. They are a great way to decorate your Coffee table or Dining Table. They are also a great option for gifting it to your loved ones.




Materials Used:-
4 Ply Cotton Knitting Yarn
4 mm Crochet Hook

Size:-
Base - 10 inches - Customizable to any size
Length - Customizable to any size

Lets Start ...!!!!

Round 1:-
Start with a Slip Knot.
Chain 39.
This measures around 10 inches.
You can adjust the size by altering these stitches according to your requirement.
Start with any odd number of Chains.


Round 2:-
1 Double Crochet in the Third Chain from the hook.
1 Double Crochet each in the remaining stitches.
Once you reach end, Chain 2.

Straight Edge Turning Chain:-
Usually you would Chain 2, turn and start working the next round. Here is a quick tip to have a nice straight edge .
  • Insert the hook into the 1st chain from the bottom.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You should have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Turn your project and insert the hook into the first stitch.
  • Yarn over and pull up a loop. You will have 3 loops on the hook.
  • Again, yarn over and pull through 2 loops. You will have 2 loops on the hook.
  • Lastly, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.
  • This will make one Double Crochet.






Round 3:-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
1 Double Crochet each in the next 5 Stitches(that's total 6 Double Crochets made).
Skip 1 Stitch.
Chain 1.
1 Double Crochet each in the next 6 stitches.
Skip 1 Stitch.
Repeat(1DC*6,Sk1Ch1).
1 Double Crochet  each in the last 2 stitches.
Once you reach the end ,Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning chain method  mentioned in the previous round to make the turning chain.








Round 4:-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
1 Double Crochet in the next 2 Stitches(i.e.-make the stitch in the Chain 1 Space too. That's total 3 Double Crochets made).
Skip 1 Stitch.
Chain 1.
1 Double Crochet each in the next 6 stitches.
Skip 1 Stitch.
Repeat(1DC*6,Sk1Ch1).
1 Double Crochet  each in the last 5 stitches.
Once you reach the end ,Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning chain method to make the turning chain.






Round 5:-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
1 Double Crochet in the next 3 Stitches(That's total 4 Double Crochets made).
Skip 1 Stitch.
Chain 1.
1 Double Crochet each in the next 6 stitches.
Skip 1 Stitch.
Repeat(1DC*6,Sk1Ch1).
1 Double Crochet  each in the last 4 stitches.
Once you reach the end ,Chain 2 and use the Straight Edge Turning chain method to make the turning chain.






Round 6:-
(1 Double Crochet is already made while making the turning chain)
1 Double Crochet in the next 4 Stitches(That's total 5 Double Crochets made).
Skip 1 Stitch.
Chain 1.
1 Double Crochet each in the next 6 stitches.
Skip 1 Stitch.
Repeat(1DC*6,Sk1Ch1).
1 Double Crochet  each in the last 3 stitches.
