There are all kinds of crocheted basket shapes , right from round, oval , square or rectangular pattern you can make to organize your stuff at home. Using different yarns and stitch textures you can make beautiful collection of crochet basket patterns.
Today am sharing the pattern for this simple and quick Textured Crochet Macrame Basket. The textured look of the basket is made with Front Post Double Crochet and Double Crochet worked alternatively. I have used Cotton Macrame cord for the basket and the unique texture of the Macrame cord makes the basket stand out from the regular yarn. The Macrame rope makes the basket sturdy and it won’t bend or fall over.
Materials Used:-
- 3mm , 3 Ply Cotton Macrame Cord
- 6 mm Crochet Hook

5 Inches Base - can be customized to any size
Notes:-
For this whole Pattern, the Starting Chain 2 is not counted as a stitch. It is Just to bring the yarn to a working height. Start the next stitch in the same stitch.

Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
12 Double Crochets in the circle.
12 Double Crochets in the circle.
Pull the yarn end to close the gap.
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
12 Stitches.
Chain 2.
2 Double Crochets in each stitch around.
Slip stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
24 stitches.
Round 3:-
Chain 2. 1 Double Crochet in the same stitch.
2 Double Crochets in the next stitch.
Repeat*(1DC, 2DC).
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet.
36 Stitches.
I stopped with the increase round here.
The Base measures 5 inches.
If you wish to make a Bigger Basket, follow the below pattern:-
Start each round with Chain 2(Not counted as a stitch)
Round 4--DC 2, 2DC in next stitch(48)
Round 5--DC 3, 2DC in next stitch(60)
Round 5--DC 3, 2DC in next stitch(60)
Round 6--DC 4, 2DC in next stitch(72)
.....and so on.
.....and so on.
Round 4 (Turning Base):-
Start with Chain 2.(Not Counted as a stitch).
1 Double Crochet in the Back Loop.
1 Double Crochet each in the Back Loop of the remaining stitches.
Slip Stitch on top of the first Double Crochet . Make the slip stitch in both the loops.
Chain 2.
1 Front Post Double Crochet in the same stitch.
1 Double Crochet in the next stitch.
Repeat(1FPDC, 1DC)
Slip Stitch on top of the first stitch.
Round 6 Onwards:-
Keep repeating Round 5 untill the size needed and weave off.
Round 1:-
Start with a Magic Circle.
12 DCs in the circle.
