This is a Art Magazine Cut out. In this print there is an amazing collection of Japanese paintings at the 10th Exhibition of the Imperial Academy of Art at Tokyo museum in Japan.

top right - "Celosia argentea, commonly known as plumed cockscomb, or the silver cock's comb"

top left - "Zuijin" - In Shinto, Zuijin or Zuishin are kami warrior-guardians, often depicted as holding bows and arrows. The name was originally applied to the bodyguards of the Emperor of Japan. Statues of zuijin are often placed flanking shrine gates. Kami that guard over shrine gates are considered to be Kado-Mori-no-Kami or Kadomori-no-kami, the gods who watch over the gates.

bottom - Title - "Snow in Spring" - There is a young geisha (maiko) drinking matcha green tea and enjoying looking at snow covered bamboo leaves, trees in Japanese garden.

top right - A standing statue known as Gigeiten-ryuzo. The sculpture of Gigeiten, a female deity, has a dry lacquer head of the Nara period joined to wooden body carved in the Kamakura Period. Its head was made in the 8th century and the body was made in the 13th century. It is roughly 2m in height and has been designated one of Japan's Important Cultural Properties.

top left - Washing Legs in the Long Stream "濯足萬里流" by Komuro Suiun.

bottom - phoenix by Araki Jippo ( jap. 荒木十畝 ; * 5 October 1872 ( traditionally : Meiji 5/9/3) in Omura , Nagasaki Prefecture as Teijiro Tomonaga ( 朝長悌二郎 ); † 11 September 1944 ) was a Japanese painter, whose works mainly the Nihonga are assigned style.

It is vintage so there are some imperfections. These photos show cuts, folds and discolorations.

This would be beautiful framed and displayed but it could also be used in mixed media art.

It measures about 26.7 x 38.7 cm.
