The Research Center on Culture Education and Social Issues will hold a Workshop entitled “Introducing Applied Statistics to Undergraduate Students”, along with the University’s Faculty Members, on May 17, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Thomas Aquinas Research Complex (TARC).
Topics which will be discussed include: problems to be expected when using publically available Datasets; improving efficiency through usage of syntax files, assisting students with developing uni-variate and multi-variate concepts through data transformations standardized scoring and Cronbach’s Alpha; using classroom games to help students understand descriptive and inferential statistics; introducing the logic of control variables; and providing a foundation for understanding multivariate analyses.
Also participating in the workshop are representatives from various universities and institutions from all over the country.
