Stetson to Offer Free Entrepreneurship Lecture Series

Lecture Hall

SparkMacon is Macon’s premier makerspace, with the goal of developing the already thriving “culture of entrepreneurism and innovative thinking in Macon and at Mercer.” Offered for free, the new Entrepreneurship Lecture Series hopes to enliven the community through collaboration with entrepreneurs and universities.

The first lecture in the series took place on September 6th at SparkMacon and featured Charise Stephens and Molly Mcwilliams Wilkins. Stephens, who has been responsible for many multi-million dollar programs and grassroots initiatives, has more than 20 years of experience in administrative, marketing and project management fields. “Macon Made”, Stephens has made a career of giving back to the community through projects such as the Middle Georgia Kidz market, Priorities Women Empowerment and the Georgia Wellness and Fitness Festival.

Molly McWilliams Wilkins, Macon native and Mercer graduate, has over 10 years of experience in marketing, editing and social media. Her online magazine, Southern Bon Vivant, has reached over 100,000-plus website and social media impressions each month. She also serves as the executive director of Macon’s Cannonball House, and has established herself as an authority on food, fashion, and Southern lifestyle.

Those interested in the entrepreneurship lecture series can find information about upcoming speakers on the Mercer calendar of events or can be added to the MIC listserv by contacting Dr. Sam Lankford, Mercer Innovation Center director, or Nadia Osman, director at SparkMacon.
