IHM – CET 2019

International Hotel Management Common Entrance Test (IHMCET)

Admissions for 2019 – 20 Academic session of 3 years Program in ‘International Hotel Management’ (IHM). This is a full time, 100% job oriented program which equips candidates with the essential knowledge and skills for Hospitality Industry.

The course offers classroom coaching for 1 year followed by 2 years of On Job Training in UAE & Hong Kong (including Flight ticket and visa arrangements by CEDP) with 100% placement in Hospitality industry not only in India but globally.

CEDP invites the applications to fill 300 seats of International Hotel Management through IHMCET and the seats will be offered purely on the basis of merit.

Candidates from all streams having 10+2 or equivalent passed or appeared this year are eligible to enter into the Booming Hospitality Industry through the IHMCET by availing career opportunities for Hospitality Candidates as mentioned below.

  • Kitchen/housekeeping Management Trainee
  • Flight kitchens & Onboard flight kitchens  of Airlines and Airport Hotels

ELIGIBILITY:

10 + 2 or equivalent with English as one of the subjects studied from a recognized board.

QUALIFYING EXAMINATIONS FOR INDIAN STUDENTS

  • Plus two level examination in the 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education of any recognized
  • Central/State Board, such as Central Board of Secondary Education and Council for Indian School Certificate
  • Examination or State Boards of Secondary Education.
  • Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University.
  • Any Public School/Board/University Examination in India or in a foreign country recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education.
  • S.C. Vocational Examination approved by NCVT and SCVT of concerned state.
  • Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects including English as one of the Subjects, result of which should be available upto 09.2018.

AGE LIMIT – 18 to 27 years

RESERVATIONS OF SEATS:

SC 5 seats
ST 5 seats
OBC 5 seats (Non creamy layer)
Women 20% of 285 seats

Candidates belonging to SC / ST categories will be required to produce the original caste/tribe certificate issued by a competent authority in the prescribed format during admission. Certificates in any other format will not be accepted. Seats remaining vacant in these categories shall not be filled

by candidates belonging to any other categories.

Candidates belonging to OBC category must produce the original ‘Non creamy layer’ (NCL) issued on or after 1st April 2017 by a competent authority in the prescribed format along with the original caste certificates at the time of personal interview.

PHYSICAL FITNESS

All qualified candidates will have to submit a physical fitness certificate at the time of admission from a Registered Medical Practitioner

ABOUT THE JOINT ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

DATE OF WRITTEN EXAMINATION

  • The date of Written Test Examination is SUNDAY 10th and SATURDAY 16th March 2019
  • Candidate should report to the Examination Center minimum 1 hour before the scheduled time of exam which will be declared later on.

HOW TO APPLY

  1. On-line application form and Information shall be available on the www.cedp-edu.com

from the 09th February 2019 to 5th March 2019.

 

  1. Candidates apply through on-line from 09.2.2018 by remitting fee through payment gateway.

III. Offline applications and brochures will be available at CEDP Skill Institute, 5th Floor, People Education Society, New English School, Near Talao Pali, Ram Maruti Road Thane, Maharashtra 400602 only from 20th February 2018 by remitting the fees in cash. Time 11 am to 6 pm

VENUE OF EXAM:
The exam will be conducted at Thane. The detailed address along with the time will be displayed on www.cedp-edu.com on SUNDAY 10th March 2019

PATTERN FOR WRITTEN EXAMINATION

A written Examination will be conducted covering following subjects. The questions will be asked in multiple choice formats (MCQs). Every question will have 4 options and the candidate has to choose a correct option.

LANGUAGE OF QUESTION PAPER

Question Paper will be in English only.

MARKING SCHEME FOR IHMCET WRITTEN TEST
Each correct answer under Numerical Ability & Analytical Aptitude, Reasoning & Logical Deduction, General Knowledge & Current Affairs and English Language components carry one mark. For any wrong answer 0.25 marks will be deducted. Graded mark(s) will be awarded under Aptitude for Service Sector component in the following manner; the most appropriate answer carries 1.00, the next appropriate answer carries 0.75, the next to next appropriate answer carries 0.50 whereas the inappropriate answer shall carry negative mark of 0.25.

MERIT LIST:
The merit list of candidates shall be prepared on the basis of marks secured in the CET Written Test. In case candidates secure equal marks, the merit will be determined as under;

  1. i) Candidate securing higher marks in English component of IHMCET shall rank higher,
  2. ii) In case of candidates securing equal marks in IHMCET, as well as in English component of IHMCET, then the candidate securing higher marks in Service Aptitude Component of IHMCET shall rank higher,

iii) In case of tie in (i) and (ii) above, the candidate older in age shall rank higher.

RESULTS
The results will be displayed on our website www.cedp-edu.com  in the last week of March or first week of April 2018.

Based on the merit, the selected candidates will be called for personal interview, the process of which will be displayed on the website in the first week of April 18.

The admissions will be done purely on the basis of merit followed by performance in Personal Interview.

GUIDELINES FOR FILLING UP THE ON-LINE APPLICATION FORM FOR IHMCET

  • The candidates are advised to go through the Admission Brochure carefully and acquaint themselves with all requirements in respect to filling up of the ON-LINE Application Form for IHMCET.
  • It will be the sole responsibility of the candidate to make sure that he/she is eligible and fulfils all the conditions prescribed for admission.
  • If ineligibility of a candidate is detected at any stage before or after examination/declaration of result or during any stage of the programme, his/her candidature/admission will be cancelled without any notice, disciplinary action will be taken against him/her and entire fee will also be forfeited.
  • The candidate solely responsible for filling up of on-line application form, clearly, legibly and in block letters of English.
  • Incomplete Application Form will be summarily rejected and no request will be entertained in this regard.
  • Candidate should write his/her name in CAPITAL LETTERS (IN ENGLISH) as given in Class X or equivalent certificate.

 

  • Name of Mother/Father: Write the name of your Mother or Father exactly as in your Class X or equivalent certificate.
  • Date of birth: Enter the date, month and year of your birth as per English Calendar and as recorded in your School/Board (Class-X) Pre-University examination certificate. Use numerals 01 to 31 for Date, JAN to DEC for Month and four digits for year of birth. For example, if born on 16th August, 1996, the date should be entered as follows: 08.1996.

 

  • Category: Tick the appropriate ovals for your categories- OPEN (GEN), Scheduled Caste(SC),Scheduled Tribe(ST), Other Backward Classes(OBC – Non creamy layer),. Categories once declared by the candidate, cannot be changed at a later date (at the time of Counselling/admission). If no category is specified, you would be considered as falling under ‘General’ category only. And, no claim whatsoever shall be entertained thereafter.

 

  • Gender: Tick the appropriate oval indicated for ‘Male’, ‘Female’ or Other.

 

  • Qualifying Exam: Tick the titled “Passed” if you have already passed the 10+2 or any other specified qualifying examination, which makes you eligible for the Entrance Test. Tick the titled “APPEARING” if you are appearing for the examination, which makes you eligible. The title “APPEARING’ covers the cases of “APPEARED” candidates also.
  • Nationality: Please type your Nationality in the given space.
  • Mailing Address: Write your name and complete mailing address IN CAPITAL LETTERS including the PIN CODE along with Telephone/ Mobile numbers with relevant STD Code at which the communication is to be sent.
  • Photograph of the candidate: The candidate should affix his/her recent colour photograph with white background (without attestation) taken not more than three months old. The photograph should be upload as per the instruction available on the website. The maximum size for upload is 1 MB in jpg, png format.
  • Verification: While filing up of the on-line application form, the candidate must verify the correctness of all the particulars furnished by him/her. In case any candidate is found to have furnished false information or is found to have concealed any material information in his/her application, he/she will be debarred from admission. Further, such a candidate shall also be liable for punishment.
  • Signatures of the candidate: While filing up of the on-line application form, the candidate must upload his/her signature (Max size 1 MB in jpg, png format) at the appropriate space provided for the purpose in the application form.
  • BE CAREFUL WHILE HANDLING OF APPLICATION FORM
  • No request for change/correction/modification in the particulars of Application Form will be entertained.

ADMIT CARD:

The admit card will be sent on the email address submitted by you during the online application by 6th March 2019. The candidate must bring a print out of the same and stick his/her recent photo on the same with a signature across the photo. Candidates who fail to provide the admit card to the invigilator at the Examination Centre for cross verification will not be allowed to attend the examination.  In case of doubtful identity, the candidate shall not be allowed to sit for the examination.

CODE OF CONDUCT FOR CANDIDATES DURING IHM CET

  • Candidates shall maintain perfect silence and attend to their Question Paper only. Any conversation or gesture or disturbance in the Examination Room/Hall shall be deemed as misbehaviour. If a candidate is found using unfair means or impersonating, his/her candidature shall be cancelled and he/she will be liable to be debarred for taking examination either permanently or for a specified period according to the nature of offence.
  • Candidates are not allowed to carry any textual material, Calculators, Docu Pen, Slide rules, Log Tables, Electronic Watches with facilities of calculator, printed or written material, bits of papers, mobile phone, pager or any other electronic device, except the Admit Card inside the Examination Room/ Hall. In case a candidate is found in possession of any of the above objectionable material, the same will be treated as malpractice and candidature will be cancelled with confiscation of objectionable material.
  • The candidate shall not remove any page(s) from the Test-Booklet and if he/she is found to have removed any page(s) from his/her Test Booklet, he/she will be presumed to have used unfair means and shall be liable for criminal action.

Offline applications and brochures will be available at CEDP Skill Institute only from 09th February 2019 however; candidates are advised to opt for an online application which is hassle free, convenient and accurate.
