Taking a break from my usual blog topics to talk about what happened in Florida and the 50 people that were killed in a night club.   The attack is the deadliest mass shooting by a single person in United States history, the deadliest incident of violence against lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) people in the history of the United States and the deadliest terrorist attack in the United States since September 11, 2001.

Such a senseless loss of life that does no good for anyone involved.   It saddens me to see a situation where there are truly no winners.    We are all on earth together and what we do to each other, we do to ourselves.

In the past when these tragedies struck, I would investigate them endlessly trying to find some reason and some meaning so that it made sense to me.  Why did they do it?  Are they mentally ill, truly terrorists, on anti-depressants like so many other mass-shooters?   I can’t do that anymore.   It leads me nowhere.

When a Tragedy like this happens it’s important to stop and pause and think about what and who is really important in life.   I know I am going to hug my family a little longer tonight and really take the time to appreciate the people in my life.

A lot of the people I’ve met in the last few years have been online through my blog and the members area of the website.  I want to let you know how important you are to me and how important the connections that I have made are. Please take a few minutes to see the good in your lives and the potential for a brighter future.  When it’s dark like it is now, we need to focus on the light at the end of the tunnel and focus on the getting into that light.   No amount of additional hate is going to bring those people back.
