This trilogy of sports documentaries by Jeremy Jones’ is bound to inspire you to get outside. These aren’t your typical Mountain snowboarders, instead these guys push the limits of the sport beyond what you probably thought was possible. These genuine athletes not only ride down insane mountain faces but they also hike all the way up to these peaks, as their mission is to go beyond what’s possible with helicopters or other vehicles. This often means spending weeks at a time camping far away from civilization. Overall, it’s a lifestyle the Zakizo team can certainly appreciate.
You might not be a snowboarder, but this is still worth it just for the mountain scenery. They get some amazing shots and even if your not motivated to hop on a snowboard, you will be itching to go visit the mountains. If the scenery isn’t enough for you then you might also appreciate the skill and knowledge that go into these missions in the mountains. These guys are really experts when it comes to Snow Conditions and avalanche safety and they spend days studying snow conditions before they attempt their first ride. Overall, it’s very interesting stuff.
You also get an inside look at the man himself, Jeremy Jones. We see his attempts at Olympic Trials and how he found his calling in back country mountain boarding. We also see him with his family and how he balances his mountain and family life.
Overall, this is easy to recommend for a number of reasons. If your a winter sports enthusiast then it’s a no-brainer, and if not then the scenery should be enough to motivate you to go play in the mountains.
