Summer always gives me the image of scorching sun up, girls and ladies with an umbrella walking down the streets and on roads, Sunglasses and shades, cool Tees with nice print or a good message but the only thing which shatters down the scene is tan on the body which is taking away color of clean and bright Skin. While there are many Tan removing creams in the market
but there are always home remedies for everything. So I compiled up the recipes which surely can take out tan of out you throughout the summer. Chill!!! All the recipes have normal things available in home during summer.

Recipies to Remove tan during summer

1. Curd or Yogurt: 

Curd is not just white itself it can help you whitens your skin also. It is very effective for detanning skin after a long day out in the sun. Curd has cooling and nourishing properties, a natural moisturizer and skin brightner. It also soothes the skin and relieves it from reddening and irritation due to sunburn. It helps clear dead cells, and keeps skin pores healthy and clean.

Curd is commonly used with turmeric to get rid of tan and get a glowing skin. It can be used with various things apart from turmeric such as  Fuller's earth (multani mitti) or Bengal gram flour (besan) is also an ideal option in place of turmeric in yogurt.

  • Add besan and curd in the bowl, mix them well and Apply the mix to your face. Let it set there for 10-15 mins. Rinse it off once the pack starts harden.  But beauties remember Do this once a week.
  • To use it with Fullers earth just Apply directly on the target areas and wash with cool water after it dries. Use it once in a week Beauties.
  • To use it as a daily scrub to de-tan the skin mix it with lemon and wash it after 30 mins.
2. Potato Juice: 
Potato not just makes a lots of lip smacking snacks but its juice is an effective home remedy for detanning. Peeled, as paste or juice  the potato is good for your skin in all its forms. Believe it or not, its one of the fastest and most effective veggies when it comes to de-tanning. Potatoes have natural bleaching properties. They help to reduce tan and other dark marks and patches on the skin.

  • Apply a mixture of 1 tsp of lemon juice and 1 tsp of potato juice. Or you can slice potatoes and place it on your face, feet, hand and other areas.
  • Make a thick potato juice in the mixer. Just Add a tablespoon of lemon juice and simply apply mixture on your skin. Wash it after 30 mins.
3. Fresh Milk Cream and Saffron: 
Fresh milk and saffron mixture was used by our ancestors to get a glowing skin. Soak saffron in fresh milk cream overnight and apply next morning on your face and gently massage it on your face just as you get facial and cleanser massage in parlors and salons. Milk helps to cleanse the skin and moisturize it and saffron provides a pinkish glow to it. If you want to add more freshness to it you can add in the mixture Rose Water before applying it to the skin.

4. Lemon:
Vitamin C present in lemon not only helps to lighten a tan but also the toughest dark spots on the face. There are many ways of using lemon as a tool for detanning.

  • Apply some fresh lemon juice directly on the skin and leave it to dry, and then wash with cold water.
  • Lemon and glycerin solution too is very helpful to lighten the skin. Prepare a mixture by mixing equal amounts of glycerin and lemon juice and apply on your skin. This mixture can also be stored in a cool place for later use. You can use it daily before going to bed.
  • Lemon juice and a bowl of sugar granules. Lemon is a good anti-blemish and de-tanning agent, while the sugar crystals act as an exfoliating agent. Both combined make a superb mix. Just mix the lemon juice and sugar, Apply it to your face and Spread it around the affected area in a circular motion. Rinse it off after 20 mins. But dont use this mixture daily instead Do this once a week.

5. Eggs:
It might sound weird, but it is true that eggs too have detanning properties. Apply egg-white on your face, hands, feet and other target areas and wash with cold water after drying. It makes the skin fair, fresh and supple. It helps to detoxify the skin by taking out toxins clogged in the pores. Egg-white makes the skin firm and also provides extra nutrition to the skin.

6. Tomato:
Tomatoes are not only an ideal part of salads but they are also a rich source of vitamin C and lycopene, which are very essential for a naturally flawless and glowing skin. Lycopene works as a natural sunscreen for your skin. The antioxidant in the fruit fights cellular damage and reddening of skin.They help in de-tanning and eliminate irritation and itchiness post sunburn.

  • Make a paste of oatmeal with tomato juice and apply on your face. Wash it after 15-20 mins. This also helps to reduce redness, pimples and boils due to sunburn and pollution.
  • Mash a few Tomatoes and segregate the pulp, Apply the juice of the pulp on your face and keep it on for about 15 mins till it dries up. Rinse it off soon after and Dont forget to do this twice a week!
 7. Mint:
Fresh leaves of mint provide a cooling effect when they are consumed. They are excellent for soothing and calming your skin after a sunny day out.

Grind some fresh leaves with little water and directly apply on tanned and itchy parts of the body which were exposed to sun for long hours.
This mixture of water and mint leaves instantly provides cooling effect to the skin and leaves it fresh and supple.

8. Aloe Vera:
Aloe Vera is a miracle plant. It is used in many cosmetics as a moisturizing agent. Remember those TV ads about face washes and creams which claims to have Aloe vera in them. It is because Aloe Vera helps to detan, moisturize and reduces sunburn and dryness.

Aloe vera gel is immensely beneficial for your skin, especially when youre deeply tanned. When applied, it acts like a protective healing layer on the skin, reducing wrinkle and fighting ageing. It also reduces acne and helps replenish the skins natural moisture. Also its easy to get Aloe Vera plant from your nearby or local nursery. It just takes a pot space and helps you in lots of usages.

  • Directly pick one of the stem of Aloe Vera and take out its Gel kind of stuff inside it and  Mix the aloe vera gel with a few drops of lemon juice to make a paste. Apply it on your tanned skin and leave for 15 minutes to dry and wash with warm water. 

 8. Almonds:
Almonds are a rich source of vitamin E. They help in nourishing, detoxifying and lightening skin tone.

  • Soak some almonds in milk overnight and grind them to make a paste next day. Apply it on the detanned skin and let it dry, wash it with cold water and get rid of tan instantly. If you have Dry skin then you can add a dash of honey to prevent dryness.
  9. Papaya:
The papaya is as refreshing for your skin as it is for your body and tummy when you eat it! Papaya helps give your skin a radiant glow and a smooth finish, and is an excellent beauty choice for de-tanning. Papaya is a rich source of carotene and vitamin C. It is good for skin exfoliation, detanning and curing acne, and for a glowing skin.

  • Mash up some ripe papaya slices with honey and fresh milk cream and apply on the skin. Leave it for a few minutes to dry and wash with cold water.
  • Cut a fine papaya slice, Rub it against your face and Keep the sticky fluid on for about 20 mins. Wash it off soon after. The best part of this method is that you can do this twice a day!! So cheer up beauties :)

 10. Cucumber and Milk:
Cucumber and Milk both ingredients are extremely beneficial for the skin. While cucumber has cooling properties, milk has moisturizing ones. The two of them combined makes a healthy face pack. 


Use a blender to make cucumber juice, Pour the juice into a glass and add milk. Mix well and apply it on the affected area for 20 mins. You can also use this twice a day.
