June is Men’s Health/Cancer Awareness Month, so we put together a list of some Cancer fighting foods that can give you a healthy, well-balanced diet against the most common types of cancer found in men.

Tomatoes

Bring on the lycopene and its cancer prevention benefits! Tomatoes are bursting with a powerful antioxidant that may help to reduce your risk of prostate, lung and stomach cancers. Prostate and lung cancer are 2 of the 3 most common types of cancer in men (read our article here).

Watermelon

More lycopene, coming right up! Watermelon is also chock-full of beta-carotene and vitamin C – nutrients that combat harmful cells at the source to help prevent cancer.

Soybeans

Soybeans may lower your prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels – helping to reduce your risk and prevent prostate cancer.

Garlic can help reduce your risk of stomach and colon cancers. The American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR) recommends garlic as part of a well-balanced diet.

Green tea

You can destroy toxins and keep abnormal cells from developing into cancer with the “superpowers” of green tea. The antioxidants in tea leaves may help slow the growth of cancer cells in your prostate, colon and liver, according to the AICR.
