Blueprint Names First President and CEO

Chicago-based advisory group Blueprint Health Care Real Estate Advisors recently named Torey Riso as its first president and CEO, according to a press release.

Riso, who has 25 years of real estate investment experience including 10 spent in the Senior housing industry, was most recently president and CEO of Care Investment Trust. Last November, Care Investment Trust was acquired by Mainstreet Health Investments for $425 million. The combined company took the name Invesque, Inc.

At the time of that acquisition, Care Investment Trust had investments in 42 communities within 11 states, with eight regional operators.

Riso is also a member of the Executive Board of the American Senior Housing Association (ASHA) and is co-chair of the Spring Investment Forum Planning Committee for the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC).

HRA Appoints New COO

Regional Senior Living development and management company Harbor Retirement Associates (HRA) appointed Kim Lewis to the role of COO. Lewis previously served as the Vero Beach, Florida-based organization’s vice president of operations.

In the role, Lewis will oversee the company’s operational results, strategies and innovation. Lewis has over 20 years of operations management in the senior Living industry. Prior to joining HRA, she served The Care Bridge Corporation/SLC for eight years, American Retirement Corporation/Brookdale Senior Living for 12 years and Senior Lifestyle Corporation for two years.

HRA earlier this year named former COO Sarabeth Hanson to the role of CEO and president.

Welltower Names Senior Vice President of Business Development

Welltower (NYSE: HCN) has announced that Joe Weisenburger was named senior vice president of business development.

The appointment is a step up for Weisenburger, who has been with the company since 1998 and previously served as vice president of business development.

In his new role, Weisenburger will continue to lead domestic deal origination and relationship management efforts for Welltower’s senior housing portfolio.

Watercrest Announces New Director of HR

Watercrest Senior Living Group recently welcomed Kelly Hazlett as its new director of human resources and organizational development. In the new job, Hazlett will lend expertise in business management, recruitment, goal-setting, and mentoring to the Vero Beach, Florida-based company.

Hazlett, who has over 15 years’ experience in human resources, most recently served as human resources manager for a medical services organization managing multiple primary care physician’s offices.

Judson Services CEO to Retire

Judson Services President and CEO Cynthia Dunn has announced she plans to retire from her post later this year in June.

Dunn, a 40-year veteran of the senior living industry, has served as the non-profit senior living operator’s president and CEO since 1992.

The provider’s board unanimously chose Judson’s chief collaborative health officer and vice president of health services, Kendra Urdzik as Dunn’s successor.

K4Connect Elects New Board Member

K4Connect, a mission-centered technology company centered on serving and empowering older adults and people living with disabilities, has announced the election of Terri Novak to the company’s board of directors.

Novak most recently spent 18 years as the COO of Kisco Senior Living, which owns and operates 22 senior living communities in seven states.

Novak joins Ben Yu, Ph.D., managing director at Sierra Ventures, and Steve Lux, managing director of Stonehenge Growth Equity Partners, as well as co-founders F. Scott Moody (Chairman/CEO) and Jonathan Gould (CTO), on K4Connect’s Board.

Masterpiece Living Welcomes New Director

Masterpiece Living has named Dr. Rob Winningham, PhD, as its new director of the Masterpiece Academy.

Masterpiece Living is a multi-specialty group that partners with dozens of organizations across the country to support them as centers for successful aging. The Masterpiece Academy was formed in 2008 to provide guidance, research and education to the field of aging, according to a press release.

In his new role, Winningham’s will guide the academy as it offers research and programming updates, education curriculum and training programs; and develops and manages research projects.

Dominion Names Executive Director for Tennessee Community

Dominion Senior Living has hired Kayla Cline to lead its Dominion Senior Living of Athens community in Athens, Tennessee, according to a press release.

Cline, who has more than five years of senior living industry experience, most recently was executive director of a senior living community in North Carolina. Cline will also serve as the principal and role model (PRM) for Dominion Senior Living of Athens.

EPOCH Hires Director of Community Relations for Planned Community

EPOCH Senior Living has named Peter Bruce to the role of director of community relations at Bridges by EPOCH at Andover, a memory care and assisted living community slated to open in Andover, Massachusetts, this summer.

As director of community relations, Bruce will build relationships and offer guidance to families considering memory care assisted living, according to EPOCH. Prior to his new job at EPOCH, Bruce served as director of sales for another senior living operator.

Erickson Appoints New Sales Counselor at Florida CCRC

Maria Littleworth was recently named sales counselor of Devonshire at PGA National, an Erickson Living continuing care retirement community (CCRC) located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Littleworth, who has more than six years of experience in the senior living industry, last worked at La Posada, a Kisco senior living community in Palm Beach Gardens.
