I always tell my weight loss coaching clients that eating out can absolutely be part of your overall Healthy lifestyle--it's all about the choices you make. Well Chick-Fil-A has just made healthy eating on the run just that much easier with its new Grilled Chicken menu items. Best choices are the Chick-Fil-A Grilled Chicken Sandwich, Grilled Chicken Bites and Grilled Market Salad.
The Chick-Fil-A grilled chicken sandwich is just 320 calories and 5 Grams of fat with a powerful 30 grams of protein. If you choose mustard, fat-free honey mustard or just enjoy the seasonings of the grilled chicken itself and skip the
Honey Roasted BBQ sauce, you can save 60 calories and 5 grams of fat. Just pass on the Club version of the grilled chicken sandwich which adds another 120 calories and 9 grams of fat, 7 of which is saturated due to the bacon and cheese.
If you or your kids are fans of popcorn chicken or nuggets, the new Chick-Fil-A grilled chicken bites (6-count portion) are just 100 calories, 2.5 grams of fat and 17 grams of protein.
In many cases prepared salads out are not the healthy meals you'd think by their name, but in this case, the Chick-Fil-A Grilled Market Salad (200 calories, 5 grams and 19 grams of protein) is a safe choice if you pass on the innocent sounding Zesty Apple Cider Viniagrette (230 calories, 19 grams of fat) that it typically comes with and swap it out for one of the lowfat or fat-free choices. Just note that doesn't include the granola or nut blend that is included and the nutritional information is missing from the site.
So there you have it--three solid choices of healthy fast food for eating out healthy.
