Pain and Beauty
LEARN ABOUT AN ODD FINDING AMONGST BEAUTY PROFESSIONALS
A few months ago, I was on Facebook in one of my favorite groups for professional makeup artists and beauty pros. And when I say professional, I mean the real, quality smart type who have turned their passion for transformation into a real paying career.
The quick-witted Sonia Roselli of Glossible began a thread asking us about Health Issues, if we had any, when they started, etc. What came next was truly mouth dropping, eye widening and just down right scary.
Toxic world, toxic food, toxic…beauty?
If you know my story, Health issues started popping up a few years after I started working professionally as a makeup artist. Now, I’ve always loved trying new beauty products, especially makeup, so it wasn’t as if I had just started applying product to my skin. If you want to read about what happened to me, you can learn more here.
Anyway back to the story…so the Facebook feed started blowing up with responses from tens of women who were dealing with very eerily similar health issues. Now, you know we live in a toxic world to begin with. The environment, the air we breathe, the food we eat. So that may be why this group of women is dealing with these health issues. But I asked myself, is it possible that the additional common thread of us using makeup all day everyday and spraying airbrush makeup that we’re inhaling potentially a link?
There, of course, isn’t any way to know this yet, but it is food for thought. You can read more about Sonia’s experiment here to learn about some of the Specific Health Issues that were mentioned.

What this says to me, and if you are a smart cookie too, is that I don’t really want to take that chance. Why would you take that chance when everything in this world is your health and relationships? As a mom, sometimes we put ourselves last, so I dare beg the question…would you put on your kid the stuff you put on your face? Especially almost every day?
So now you may be wondering and considering, is there truly a connection between pain and beauty?
Comment on Facebook. I’d love to hear your thoughts and if you have found that decreasing your toxic load has helped reduce pain or other medical issues.
