What should be in your multivitamin

There are a lot of benefits to taking multivitamins and there are lot of debates on whether or not you should take them. I’m not here to preach but I will tell you, take your damn vitamins. However if you want to have an effective Multivitamin there are some essentials it needs to have.

Zinc

We’ve covered the importance of Zinc on this site in depth in other articles. It’s extremely helpful in muscle recovery and growth. Not only that but Zinc supports the immune system and helps the Body break down carbs, protein and fat for energy.

Iron

Iron is extremely helpful in increasing energy and promoting growth. Specifically iron can help with better brain function, and helping you focus more. Like zinc, iron will assist the body with creating healthy red blood cells.

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 is a nutrient which makes DNA, the genetic material in all cells. Through doing this it helps keep the body’s nerve and blood cells happy and healthy. It’s made up of various components, hence the 12 in the name, and each part has an important role in how it works the body. If your multivitamin does not have B12 in it, don’t even bother getting it.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D will help with absorption of other vitamins such as Calcium. As such it helps promote the healthy growth of bones. It also plays an important role in boosting your immune system and helping your body with recovery.

Magnesium

Magnesium is important for bone and energy production but it also works to help with sleep and recovery. Studies have shown it helps reduce stress and calm the nervous system while regulating muscle and nerve function.

Calcium

The importance of calcium has been publicized for literally centuries. Calcium is vital for bone development but that’s not all calcium does. It also helps your heath, muscles and nerves to function properly.
