Breaking Up Wasn’t Easy. But I Had to Move On & On & On: Life Moves On

I have heard people say that life moves on. But, to experience it in real life isn’t that easy. Many people fail to accept the fact that there’s no end to anything. Life has to go on. Luckily, I wasn’t one of them and I survived through it. I am sharing my real life experience with you on how I faced my struggle for love.

I was in my College, when I met this girl for the first time. She was from my school, one year junior to me. But, I never talked to her then in my school. She was beautiful, intelligent, had a sweet voice and had been one of the toppers in her batch. All in one, she was the beauty with the brains. Many guys from my batch was just a fan of hers in my school days because of her pleasing personality, sensuous smile and sweet singing voice.

But, when I saw her in the college, something went through me. I thought that may be luck had given me a chance to be with the most beautiful girl ever. But, I couldn’t gather the courage to talk to her. I was looking for tips on how to impress her as well. Then I used the support of one of my sisters from my neighborhood, who was also in her batch to inform her about my liking towards her. But, she didn’t pay heed. Not because she loved somebody else, but because, she wanted to focus on her career. And, being in the cultural committee of the college, she used to remain very busy with all the cultural events and activities.

However with time, we became friends, though not the best of friends. But, I understood that somehow, our friendship was growing with time. But, soon came the time of my final year. And then I decided to propose her. But, she said that she wasn’t sure about the whole concept of long distance Relationship. So, she refused to give any commitment to me. And, it was time for me to leave for my job. I was sad. She was sad as well. But, she didn’t commit because she wasn’t sure about us.

Then, I went and joined my company in Hyderabad (India). I missed her a lot those days. I wanted her to be my life partner. But, I felt so helpless that she refused. I used to call her and talk to her. We chatted for hours. I knew that she had fallen for me. But just that she was insecure. Then suddenly, one fine day she called me up to say that she had decided to move forward with me. I was so happy. I was feeling on the top of the world. I wanted to hug her, to kiss her. But, she was all so miles away from me.

And then, after a month of we being in the relationship, I flew down to her city. She was blushing. And trust me, she looked damn gorgeous, when she blushed. And, our romance began. Yes, we were in a long Distance Relationship, but we were doing perfectly fine. I used to visit her once in 2 or 3 months. We used to fight on phone and make up on phone only. There was so much love there. There was some complications about  a our relationship from her parents. But, she  I was a star. She convinced her parents by making them realize that she loved me a lot. She completed her college and went to Noida(India) for her job. And things were going pretty smoothly.

But, the only thing that was bothering us was the urge to be in the same city. Since, I was in mining sector, it was difficult for me to move to the cities and she was in a corporate office job. It was difficult for her to move to my towns. She convinced me to pursue MBA. I started preparing for CAT exam. She happened to be very supportive all throughout my preparatory days. I cracked CAT with flying colors and got admission in one of the top B-schools of India. She was very happy. I was also very happy. We planned that after I complete my studies, we will finally get married.

But then what happened was completely unexpected. It was the end of my first semester exam, when I called her and she said that she wanted to break up with me. I was astonished. I didn’t know what she was saying. Once I thought that she might be angry. And, I tried to make her understand. But, no. She was damn serious about it. And when I asked her the reason, she said she just didn’t want to be with me anymore. She didn’t say the reason for breakup. She just made herself clear that after being in a relationship with me for about 3 years, she had realized that she won’t be able to settle down with me. I was shattered. I didn’t know what to do. All I did was rushed down to her to convince her. I even talked to her face to face. But, she was strict in her decision. I tried to convince her emotionally as well. But she was firm in it.

I completely broke down. All of a sudden my life changed. I tried contacting her several times. But every time, she made herself very clear about her decision. And then I realized that she will never come back ever. It was so hard for me to accept the fact. I started drinking. I tried to get over my breakup. And, thanks to some of my friends, who helped me thoroughly to get out of the whole breakup situation. It took almost 1 whole year for me to get back to my normal scenario. And then, I moved on. It was very very difficult. The girl with whom I imagined a whole life together was no more. I felt helpless and restless many times. But I gathered myself up and focused on my life. I understood that I need to move on.

Now I have been working as a business analyst in one of the top organizations. I have a girlfriend. But, I will never forget her. Rather, I can never forget her. And life moves on.
