I can't believe that February has already crept up on us - the poor sorry state of NYE 2020 genuinely felt like only but a moment ago.

Something positive from the past year, is the reaffirmation of what's important to me - primarily those I care about. Valentine's is just an excuse to treat them, as well as yourself because I think it's so important to show yourself a little self-appreciation.

I often think the sweetest of gifts are handmade; pored over, cared for, thoughtful. Hand-baked goods, a home-cooked meal, a handwritten letter, a hand-drawn art piece.

Luxurious gestures are also lovely. I love the arguably superfluous treat of beautiful packaging for a special treat like Valentine's - the glossy, sturdy boxes and handwritten note, tied with ribbons, of retailers like Mytheresa or Net a Porter add a special touch to the dress, shoes or beauty treasure inside.
