Bluebird Care partner with Special Olympics Ireland for the 2019 World Summer Games

BLUEBIRD CARE IRELAND PARTNER WITH SPECIAL OLYMPICS IRELAND FOR THE 2019 SPECIAL OLYMPICS WORLD SUMMER GAMES.

Bluebird Care Ireland is delighted to announce its support of Special Olympics Ireland athletes ahead of the 2019 Special Olympics World Summer Games taking place in Abu Dhabi next week.

Bluebird Care, one of Irelands leading providers of care at home and in the community have joined Special Olympics’ Support an Athlete Campaign by pledging €5,000 to cover the cost of preparing and sending a member of Team Ireland to the World Games.

91 Special Olympics Ireland athletes will represent as Team Ireland at these Games across 12 different sports. These Games, running from 14 to 21 March will be the largest humanitarian events in the World. 7,000 Special Olympics athletes from 170 countries will display their courage and skills on the world stage in Abu Dhabi.

Commenting on the partnership, Matt English, CEO of Special Olympics Ireland, said: “We are thrilled and delighted that Bluebird has come on board as a valued partner for our support an athlete campaign in the lead up to the World Summer Games and would like to thank them for their generous contribution.”

National Marketing Manager Annette Cullen and Franchise business owner Eric Delaney recently attended a Special Olympics Badminton and Table Tennis tournament in Carlow and got to experience first hand the passion, skill and commitment the athletes have for their sport.

Annette said “It was truly inspirational to spend a day with an amazing talented and skilled group of athletes who celebrate their team mates wins, their competitors wins and their own wins with an exuberance and joy that is truly infectious. We are looking forward to following all the Irish athletes at the World Games and wish them every success representing their country. C’mon Ireland!”.
