What is BioHacking?
(verb): To change the environment outside of you and inside of you. So you have full control of your biology. Which allows you to upgrade your body, mind and life.
(noun) The art and science of becoming superhuman.
Drink some coffee, you are wide awake. You exercise; you feel more joyous and productive (due to endorphin release). You sleep in a dark room, the pineal gland gets activated. Thus, what you put in your body and expose yourself to, affects you in multiple ways.
BioHacking is the art of consciously, tweaking your diet, temperature, breathing, etc. To improve your health, performance, thoughts, behaviors and vitality. Thus, use your body as a laboratory and experiment with simple techniques. To improve your health and well-being.
How old is BioHacking?
Its only in the last 5 years, that Biohacking has become popular. But, BioHacking is integral to the human race. With modern civilization, the way we relate with our bodies and nature has changed. Our ancestors got enough sunlight, fresh air, exercise, sleep and fresh foods. But, we are addicted to comfort and artificial lighting, temperature, food and what not. So, today we need to “BioHack” to lead an efficient life.
Yoga and BioHacking
The Yogis living on the mountains knew about BioHacking. They survived the freezing temperatures in just a loin cloth. Buddha was a biohacker. He figured how his mind worked and found ways to transcend the mind. Thus, meditation is also a form of BioHacking.
Yoga is a lifestyle that helps us to be more healthy, productive, content in our lives. And BioHacking uses different tools for the same reasons. Thus, give it whatever name you want. In the end, all of it, is the pursuit of health, wellness, happiness and growth!
