What causes fatigue and ways to deal with it?

In today’s busy life, maximum people face issue of  tiredness. The reason could be many more. Though, it is not a medical problem technically, it could turn into a serious issue over the time.

Tiredness or Fatigue could negatively impact your work life, family life, and social relationships. Generally, people don’t report fatigue to their doctor.

However, one can reverse it by making a small change in the lifestyle. One should visit a medical expert in case of Continuous Fatigue.

 Some of the causes of tiredness include—

Alcohol

Taking too much alcohol paves the way for many health complications including sleep deprivation.

Exercise

Too much or too little exercise, both can lead to fatigue.

Caffeine

Mostly found in daily beverages, like tea, coffee, and energy drinks. It can upset your sleeping behavior and make you feel tired at times.

Night shifts

Night shifts put adverse impact on your health. Those who work at night are more likely to feel tired. This condition could become worse if the timing of the shifts keep on changing.

Daytime naps

Taking daytime naps could make it difficult to get a good night’s sleep, which is more important for your metabolism.

 Apart from lifestyle, there could be some underlying medical condition behind your continuous fatigue. Some common conditions that report fatigue as a key symptom are—anemia, underactive thyroid, diabetes, anxiety, depression, chronic fatigue syndrome, urinary tract infection, food intolerance, heart disease, glandular fever, pregnancy, vitamin deficiencies.

Treatment

However, there is no single treatment for fatigue, because the solution depends upon the cause of the fatigue.

And if one has no underlying serious medical issue related with the fatigue, then the following lifestyle changes in routine and diet could resolve it—

  • Ensure adequate sleep and make a definite routine of it
  • Exercise 3 or 4 days in a week
  • Cut your caffeine intake and drink 4 to 5 liters of water
  • Eat healthily and avoid bad fat
  • Avoid the use of alcohol and take drugs by prescription
  • Take short breaks between your office hours
  • Include some fun or sports activity in our routine
