What is Power?

What Is Power?

Silent thought, is, after all, the mightiest agent in human affairs. ” – Channing

Power Over Fear

Fear is a powerful form of thought that affects the entire being, body, brain, and nerve. It also affects physical, Mental, and muscular systems. The way to overcome fear is to become conscious of power. What is this vital energy we call power?

We don’t really know what power is, but we also don’t really know what electricity is. However, when we know the laws that govern electricity, we can light our homes, our cities, and serve us in many useful capacities.

It’s the same with the vital energy called power. Although we don’t know what it is, we do know it’s a primary force that manifests itself through living bodies. By complying with it’s governing laws and principles, we can open ourselves to a more abundant flow of this vital energy. We can learn how to develop and increase this vital force, and put it to use to improve our lives.

Truth

Finding this truth is a systematic process. Every human experience is an effect of a cause. In seeking truth we are seeking the ultimate cause. If the cause becomes something we consciously control, so does the effect.

In the physical world, we name things that contrast. These names are given to different parts of one quantity. The two extremes are relative. North pole and south pole. Inside and Outside.

In the mental world, we do the same, such as with knowledge and ignorance. However, ignorance is simply a word to define a lack of knowledge. They are not separate entities, they are just two parts, or aspects of the whole.

In the moral world, we find the same law. We speak of good and evil, but good is a reality, something tangible. Evil is simply a negative condition – the absence of good. There is one principle in the moral world.

Mind vs Matter

The same law is operating in the spiritual world. We speak of mind and matter as two separate entities, but there is one operative principle, the mind. The mind is real and eternal. Matter is always changing.

We are in the presence of continuous change. If we look at our cities, and then look back at photos of how they looked 100 years ago, we can see that they are completely different. We see this same law of change in the natural world. The lives of most animals are shorter than ours, and the lives of most plants are even shorter. Most grasses and crops come and go in a single year.

Even the continents are constantly in motion. When we look at the matter at a molecular matter, we see that every atom is constantly in motion. This change is the evolution of the universal mind. The grand process by which things are being continually created anew. This is because matter is but a form that the mind takes, it is simply a condition. Matter has no principle, mind is only the principle.

Mind is the only principle which is operating in the physical, mental, moral and spiritual world. We know that this Mind is static, Mind at rest. The ability of the individual to think, is his ability to act on the Universal Mind and convert it into dynamic mind, or mind in motion.

Thought Into Form

Thought is constantly taking form. It is forever taking expression. If you have thoughts that are powerful, constructive, and positive, this will show in your life. This will appear in the areas of your health, business, and environment.

On the other hand, if your thoughts are weak, critical, destructive, and negative, that will manifest in your body as fear, worry, and nervousness. It manifests in your finances as lack and limitation, causing discord in your environment.

Power Types

Wealth is the offspring of power. Possessions have value, only as they confer power. Events are significant, only if they effect power. All things represent certain forms and degrees of power.

A knowledge of cause and effect has allowed mankind to harness the power of steam and electricity, chemicals, and gravitation. However, all power is not physical power. There is also mental, moral, and spiritual power.

Our schools and universities are mental powerhouses where power is being developed. These mental powerhouses collect the raw material and convert it into a mental power which is superior to all the forces of nature. Ultimate power comes from the static mind and the dynamic thought.

Thought is Power

This power is superior because it exists on a higher plane. Thought is the vital force of energy. It has produced a world that was inconceivable only 50 or even 25 years ago. This substance of Universal Mind is universally present and infinite in quantity. How does it manifest in form?

Turning Thoughts to Things

A battery works by changing the polarity of electrical currents causing them to flow. All form depends on the rate of vibration of atoms, and their relationship to each other. If we wish to change the form of manifestation, we must change the polarity.

We must be able to visualize and imagine the things that we want. We have to have the ability to concentrate, we just have to learn to use the power of our thoughts to manipulate and change our circumstances. Then we must have enough patience to allow the changes to come.
