Quiet The Mind Meditation

Quiet The Mind Meditation

“ There is no right or wrong with Meditation, there is just meditation, go do it” – JB Glossinger

What if you could find a quick and easy way to meditate? You can! In this article, discover how to use JB’s amazing “Quiet the Mind” Meditation. This type of meditation can be used to slow down the mind and get it into a place of peace. It’s known as a Word Meditation. In this meditation we visualize the words to slow down our mind.

Visualize

The way this meditation works is very simple. Visualize a beautiful Pond. It may be one from your childhood, or one that you visit near your home. Imagine sitting next to this pond, in the shade under a beautiful tree on a beautiful, warm day. The surface of this pond is very quiet. You feel the peace relaxing you.

Thing about how throwing a Rock into a pond creates ripples. Lots of rocks create many chaotic ripples. But after you stop throwing rocks, the surface of the pond becomes quiet again.

Now, imagine any word or thought that comes into your mind as a rock. Then visualize this rock flying out and disrupts the peace of the pond. All you’re doing is observing. Each time a thought-rock falls into your pond, we simply observe the rock and the ripples.

Observe, don’t Judge

Don’t judge the words and thoughts that enter your mind. We are simply trying to slow down the incoming thoughts. As you see a rock go, you say “Thought” or “Word”. “Thought… there it goes. Thought…. there it goes.” Pretty soon they will slow down until you are just at peace. Then you are looking at and vizualizing a placid pond. That is meditation at it’s finest.

This is the Silence of God that we’re all after. This is where we’re really shutting the noise down so the great answers can come, and how we can have those epiphanies that will allow us manifest the life we’re looking to manifest.

Practice

Practice make perfect. Meditation is like any other skill, it needs practice to become better. Day by day, you get a little bit better at observing your thoughts and quieting your mind down.

With this practice, meditation can be applied in all sorts of situations. It can be done any time anywhere. Even sitting in your office with your eyes closed for two minutes.

When Do You Stop?

Eventually your cleared mind will begin to fill with rapid thoughts again, breaking the meditation. As you get better, those silent moments will become longer and longer.

In the beginning, the silent moments are tiny… you’ll notice thought, thought, thought, thought, thought. It’s normal to have continuous thoughts, so don’t expect perfection. Just aim for a brief ten seconds of silence. That’s great. It’s better than you had.

Even after a lot of practice, anything more than ten minutes is really hard. Even for JB, it’s within the five minute range. Don’t expect perfection.

Are You Doing It Right?

There is no right or wrong in meditation. Meditation is just to quiet your mind. Give yourself a short amount of time every day to meditate. You don’t have to worry about being right, just do something. The point is to to practice observing the thoughts and allowing yourself to calm down a little bit. We just want to get that noise to quiet down.

Quiet The Mind Meditation is just one way to meditate. You can also try using a mantra. Get out in nature, and look for ways to create peace. We want to celebrate a few minutes of creating peace and enjoying the present moment. We want to get out of our mental prison.

The beautiful thing about this is it doesn’t take a lot of time. These tools are for busy ILD professionals, that you can use quickly. It’s a tool that you can add to your arsenal, to really find peace when you need it.
